Title: Catholic starts caring what the World thinks - it's over!
Post by: Matthew on March 08, 2019, 02:02:41 PM
Once a Traditional Catholic begins to be concerned with what worldlings think about Traditional Catholics, it's all over for them.  Put a fork in it; it's done.

It is evidence that Human Respect is king in a soul. It shows that love of the World has crept into his heart. It spells the end.

Remember that Pontius Pilate condemned Our Lord Himself to death due to Human Respect. So Human Respect is no small fault!

"Human respect" is defined as the consideration given to "what will others say/think". The saints treated human respect with the same disgust  that most of us treat cockroaches, vomit, and human waste.

You either love God's thinking and therefore hate the World's thinking
or
Love the World's thinking, and chafe whenever you're confronted with the reality that it conflicts with God's thinking ("let's ignore/change the subject", "let's shoot the messenger", etc.)

Who cares what the ignorant (at best) or malicious fools (at worst) think about any subject!

"For as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts."
[Isaias (Isaiah) 55:9]

This is so true.  But even Trad Cats fear being thought of as Racist. So while they can speak the truth about other things, certain truths are Verboten.

Hear, hear. Of all the colonies established by the Jєωs in the collective psyche of the West, the hardest one to take back - even for Trads - is the racial one. This is particularly true of Baby Boomers. The postwar campaign to foster White Guilt and portray the Marxist construct of "racism" as, not only an objective evil, but the very worst of evils, was waged in total ubiquity during the time in which the Boomers were coming of age. I see it in my aunts and uncles, who, no matter the mountains of evidence to the contrary, persist in seeing in Martin Luther King some paragon of integrity and justice, and not the philandering, rabblerousing, fork-tongued Marxist pimp that he was.

I think also of the former CI poster Sigismund, who lambasted me as a "racist idiot" for committing the cardinal sin of using some humorous variant of the dreaded, never-to-be-uttered-by-white-lips "n-word" (even though it was in reference to a white person), and even went so far as to declare any CI posters guilty in his eyes of the "sin of racism" - including Matthew (!) - formally heretical and severed from Catholic Church! Oh yes, and he also condemned St. John Chrysostom as an "αnтι-ѕємιтє." Classic Boomer fare, though a bit on the extreme side. Clearly a man whose moral compass was formed and calibrated by the likes of Bob Dylan, Harper Lee, Norman Lear, Alex Haley and Philip Roth.

Now cue Boomer Poche and one of his Mit Brennender Sorge copy/paste hit-and-runs.

[....] even Trad Cats fear being thought of as Racist.  So while they can speak the truth about other things, certain truths are Verboten.

For several years now, I've summarized my attitude thus:
We are believers of a particular religion: traditional-by-the-grace-of-God Roman Catholicism.

So by definition:
•  Our religion has been established by docuмentation that extends back nearly 2 millennia [#].
•  We don't need to give [expletives deleted] about what outsiders think about our beliefs.
•  Nor are we spiritually obligated to concede an iota of our beliefs to pander to the social or political advocacy of outsiders [×].

-------
Note #: I was intrigued by a caller to a Christmas-or-Easter-motivated show of Coast-to-Coast-A.M., who expressed the envy of either Hindus or Buddhists about the superior amount of historical docuмentation that has survived to the present to reïnforce and more-or-less prove Christian beliefs.  Or at least to prove that Christian beliefs are indeed most likely exactly what Christians preach that they are.  Notably including that when the Christ spoke, he did not preach the killing of apostates, nor anything like jihad [××].  Not that I wish to put the spotlight on a particularly diabolical political system that in modern times, masquerades as a religion.

Note ×: We don't need to give [expletives deleted] about criticism by outsiders that Romans 1:26--32 is "bigoted",  "mean-spirited",  and "hateful" to people who identify with Guac, Lettuce, Bacon, and Tomato perversions.  Which is not to say that I disparage the corresponding items in the list when simply identifying items of food.

Note ××: Believers might reasonably debate the reported Beatitude "blessed are the cheesemakers", but believers can be confident that neither "killing" and "jihad" were advocated in the Beatitudes of the Christ.
