I once had a book titled "Mary's Garden" listing all the flowers and the corresponding title of Our Lady.
As my main devotion to Our Lady is under the title Mother of Sorrows I was surprised to find the corresponding flower was...the dandelion.
I thought a weed was rather inappropriate but then remembered that the first "flower" my children and grandchildren brought me as toddlers was...a dandelion.
That childish act always washed away my sorrows and concerns and made me smile.
From then on I thought it would be so sweet if for the May crowning if toddlers brought dandelions.
I think many mothers will remember when their toddlers gifted them with this "pretty weed".

I've always said that God created dandelions so little children could have a pretty, colorful flower to give their mothers.

Our boys prefer dandelions at the blow stage.  When we go for rosary walks they will actually fight over who gets them.  🤣
