Christ told his apostles, you will know them by their fruits.  What you see, outwardly.  And what is in the heart will surface.  We judge the vehicle before we purchase it.  The so-called clergy are manifest when they say the new order mess.  It is full of heresies .  And right now, all parishes world wide are restructured. Meaning half of the institutions church, schools will be closed to sold however. Their so-called clergy will also be cut in half.  Parishes will be cared for by 1 clergy man not priest. 3-4 parishes to 1 person.  The parishes are no longer, they are known as Civil Society Organizations. They answer to the United Nations, who support perverts, abortion, you name it.  Now that is manifest.

Then we have the coalition of cancelled priest.  They lie.  They are not priest, they wanted to be reinstated (billboards). they claim they were thrown out(restructure). They knew in advance what was happening and to find a place for themselves drawing attention via sympathy.

You will know them by their fruits.

The answer depends upon who you ask.
Do not get hung up on this issue if you want to save your soul and remain sane. Our Lord doesn’t expect you to answer this question.
Just be faithful to practice the Catholic Faith as best you DO know.

You have to answer that question though. If the Vatican II popes are valid, you can go to any church claiming to be Catholic. You might not get a strong sermon, but you'll get valid sacraments. If the Vatican II popes are not valid, you essentially need to go to SSPX or sedevacantist churches in order to get valid sacraments.

IMO Pope Pius XI lost his authority.  And it must be said, that if this was to occur, God would make it manifest.

Pope Pius XI knew that Our Lady/God wanted Russia consecrated in 1917 and Sr.Lucia saw a vision in 1929 at TUY.  She was to tell the Pope it was time to do the consecration.  1931 Our Lady was to have said to Sr. Lucia, pope did not heed God's request, therefore he will be like King Louis XIV.  He did not consecrate France to the Sacred Heart.  He was dethroned and beheaded.  So, he lost his authority and when he did, the Church was beheaded.

So you're saying that the Pope lost his authority because he didn't fulfill a request from private revelation? Wow

I can't judge the Pope  (Leo XIV)... the problem is not in my domain anyway. imho
Exactly.

Jer. 23:1 Woe to the pastors, that destroy and tear the sheep of my pasture, saith the Lord. 2 Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of Israel to the pastors that feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold I will visit upon you for the evil of your doings, saith the Lord....... 16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Hearken not to the words of the prophets that prophesy to you, and deceive you: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.

"So he says do not listen to them. If they teach a false doctrine you’re not to listen to them. You can recognize it for false because it’s contrary to what they told you formally, contrary to what the book says they ought to teach, contrary to what they promised they would teach, contrary to everything that they know and you know they ought to be. He says 'Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Hearken not to the words,' he does not say to obey them." - Fr. Wathen snip from a sermon on today's false prophets.
