  • Hello. Can anyone find a classic Gospel movie that was made in the English language where Jesus mentions "hell" or "hellfire" even once?

I've seen most of the classic Gospel films over the years such as Jesus of Nazareth, King of Kings, The Greatest Story Ever Told etc. and I noticed a disturbing trend in all of these allegedly "wonderful" movies about the life of Christ: I can't recall any one of them ever showing a scene where Jesus even casually mentioned "hell" or "hellfire." I can't speak for the direct-to-video movie productions in the recent years (they probably do since they are already tailor-made for a primarily devout religious audience) but I think it's true about every really popular movie ever made about the life of Christ.

If anyone knows of a Gospel movie where Jesus speaks the full truth please let me know. Very much appreciated.

  • Although it's exclusively about the Passion, the Passion of Christ is all I can think of, at least implicitly where the devil messes with Judas Iscariot, and he hangs himself and you get the idea that he went straight to Hell.
Our Lady of La Salette, pray for us!

It's Hollywood, don't expect truth from them.

In TPOTC, the Jews indeed said "His Blood be upon us and upon our children", but it was in Hebrew.  They didn't subtitle that line.  No surprises there.
