Some might think this is paranoia or schitzophrenia or
some other kind of emotional abnormality, but stop and
think about it -- why were many of the ancient martyrs
killed?  They did something that drew the attention of the
    evil overlords.

Refusal to offer incense to pagan false gods

Refusal to renounce their Christian faith

Absence from required pagan rituals like Saturnalia, etc.,
and later refusal to abjure the so-called error of the absence

You can get pulled over driving your car if you make a
little wiggle in your path, by moving the steering wheel
quickly to and fro, for whatever reason, such as, you're
trying not to spill hot coffee, or, you sneeze and grab the
steering wheel when it moves abruptly, or, when you hit
a pothole and the car lurches to one side, or, when there
is some obstacle like an animal running across the street
in front of you or a sharp-looking thin on the pavement
ahead.  There are many reasons that your vehicle can
make a weaving motion for just a second.

Law enforcement officers are trained to notice these
tiny things and interpret them in the worst possible light,
such that you suddenly become suspect of driving under
the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Well, maybe you're just
spastic or nervous or a little inexperienced, or maybe your
passenger distracted you by shouting "OH NO!  THERE IS
    A POLICEMAN STARING AT YOU!!"

Whatever it is, you can get pulled over for it, and once
being Catholic is a crime, then getting pulled over for
a tail light being out, for example, can become the
first moment of your last days with your newly
    established life without freedom.

There was a guy in the news just the other day, who got
pulled over for a tail light being out, and when the officer
checked up on his ID it turned out he was an ex-con with
an outstanding bench warrant, and convicted of assaulting
a minor, and a suspect for having fled a new crime.  It made
me think - the time might be coming when being a Trad
Catholic will be a criminal offense and tail light problems
could be the beginning of the end for any one of us!!

One Light Bulb and One Mile Per Hour

Even that silly little bulb that lights your rear license plate
being out, can be why they pull you over!!  Don't say it's
ridiculous, because it has happened to me.  If you get a
citation for a tail light out and you then ignore it, it can go
to warrant, and if you are out of town when the mail
arrives or if the letter gets lost in the mail, as sometimes
happens, the court does not care.  They mail stuff out all
the time regular mail, and hold you responsible even though
they don't know for a fact that you ever received it.  So if
you are 3,000 miles from home, and get pulled over for
going 36 mph in a 35 zone, for example, the first thing
they do is run a make on your ID and this bench warrant
shows up where your driver's license has been suspended
(even though you in fact did not know that had happened)
and so you should not be driving even a rental car, so you
get fingerprinted and you have to post bail to show up in
2 months, even though you were planning on being 3,000
miles away again by then -- AT HOME.  The court does not
care.  You can beg mercy via the DA in the out-of-town
court, but the best you'll get is a 'deal' whereby you get
TWO POINTS on your driver's record, which lasts for about
2 years, and during which time you will end up paying
about $1300 more in auto insurance for those two points.
All because of one light bulb and one mile per hour.

In the BEST CASE you can be let off with a warning, but if
they write you up, it's going to cost $15 just to get the
Sheriff to sign off that you fixed the bulb.  In Calif. you can
get the CHP to sign off a "fix-it ticket" for FREE.

(California Highway Patrol -- "AAA with a badge"
AAA - Automobile Association of America, or "Auto Club")

(Furthermore -- while the nice, courteous service of the
Auto Club that helps you plan your vacations might seem
like a great idea, and it's so easy, like a free travel agent,
really, this could easily become a means by which your
activities are data-banked so that they can keep track of
what you are THINKING, and if your thinking is not in
accord with the NWO way of thinking, then you become a
"terrorist" and a 'SECURITY THREAT' so that your activities
are under scrutiny and you will be found out.  Your real
estate can be seized, your money taken out of your bank
account without warning, and all manner of freedoms lost
because you do not adhere to the NORMS that are defined
as REQUIRED of you, just as burning incense to false pagan
gods was required of ancient Romans, only this time, it's in
the name of 'democracy' and 'good citizenship'.)

  • Neil,

Are you implying we should remove our Catholic bumper stickers & decals?

Perhaps displaying them will become a criminal offense?

Ah, Martyrdom! The fast "elevator to Heaven", per +W.

  • The New Order jackboot Gestapo will want to pull me over and run me in for being faithful to Christ and His Church?

Let them come and get me. I have never hidden and never will. NEVER, Deo gratias.

What don't the people understand who ascribe to fear-mongering and paranoia? If you are in the state of sanctifying grace, let the world and the Devil's minions do what they will. You will close your eyes in this world and open them to an eternal future being purified for and ultimately enjoying the Beatific Vision.

Christ gloriously reigning and the blessed maternal love of Our Lady are worth infinitely more than anything in this world.

I wasn't even thinking about bumper stickers.

So far, bumper stickers are not a punishable offense, but I have
heard of police pulling over someone and writing them up when
they didn't like a particular bumper sticker.  Of course, the offending
officer isn't going to admit that in court, because his lawyer will
encourage him to steer clear of it.

If you're looking for ways of being miserable, then fine, don't check
your tail lights, don't bother to be sure your rear license plate
lamp is working, don't replace a headlight when it goes out, and
ignore the courthouse mail when it comes.  Throw in a few rolling
stops at stop signs and straddling lanes on the highway, maybe
even letting your left tire run over the double yellow line on Kanan
Dune Road, Malibu, not even so much as crossing over the line
(that one will cost you $900 and up last I heard), just for the fun
of it. Live life to the fullest.

Maybe you'll have a  lot more time for Rosaries in prison, if you
can't afford to pay off the exorbitant court fees.

For the times, they are a-changin'  -- Bob Dylan.

Speaking of Folk/Rock music, there is a man named Roger Daltry
who's probably better at harmonica than Bob Dylan, but didn't
make that a centerpiece of his career, perhaps because it's too
Bob Dylanesque, and he had a comrade who played drums.  Now,
35 years after the drummer died of an overdose of drugs that
he had been prescribed to help control his penchant for drug
addiction (seriously), he is still sorely missed by the two survivors
of his band, The Who. There is a lingering story of the mad hatter
of Rock drummers, Keith Moon, who had a cigarette lighter that
looked like a US. GI handgrenade. He was a passenger on an
airline flight, in the days when you could smoke on such, and he
rolled this lighter down the aisle, and other passengers saw it.
There was a commotion, as you might expect.  It seems that
Moon had done this precisely to evoke the said commotion, so
in that respect it was "successful."  He was notorious for such
pranks, that most often did not hurt anyone, but quite often
involved the "conspicuous consumption" of material and the
property even of others, which he paid for many times over.

What would happen to someone today who does such a thing?
Would there be punitive damages in the lawsuit?

The point is, doing something that is considered an innocent thing,
or perhaps even a practical joke, could later, in a different political
climate, become a capital offense, perhaps even eligible for the
    death penalty.

I was saying they'll RUN YOU IN for having a tail light out, if you
happen to have an outstanding bench warrant.  And the day may
well come when you could have such a warrant for being Catholic.

    Yes.  For example:

Obamacare moves into its new enforcement phase in January,
when you will be required to obtain health insurance, which will be
used to fund abortions and contraception, and other amoral
practices that is all going to be a required component of this
Antichrist legislation.  Are you going to buy the insurance?

Are you going to support abortion?
Are you going to fund contraception?

If not, you will be fined.  Are you going to pay the fine?  Or, are
you going to be a CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTOR to this evil law,
based on your religious beliefs?  If you choose the latter, you could
go to jail for it.  Are you ready for that?

That's just one example.  But in any case, if you go on record for
being one who's objecting to the Obamacare law, if you get pulled
over for a tail light problem, you could end up in hoosgow  (the
pokey, slammer, clink to Euros/Brits) for the former charge, even
though you're being NOTICED only because of the tail light.

    That's my point.

Yes, and you may close your eyes millions of times only to open
them to another minute, hour, day, week, month or decade in a
miserable state, like Cardinal Josef Mindszenty did and the
martyrs of China have, etc.   I'm just saying it's getting to be
time to check your tail lights if you would like to postpone your
    possible years in prison.

I hope and pray we can keep up our attitude when they use
Chinese water torture on us, which is a much more cruel and
    slow method compared to water-boarding.

Remember:  even the great Joan of Arc cracked under torture.
And that was for fear of the death that she would face anyway.... :heretic:

Do you suppose the Maid of Orleans would have been so willing
to don armor and lead troops in battle if she had known from
the start that she would face such a death in the end?

Edit: That should be Roger Daltrey (previous post).

Want a job for the NYPD?  This is the reason for "Stop and Frisk.". I'm 53, Caucasian, female, dress modestly, professionally most of the time.  I've never once been stopped and frisked.  Once, I got pulled over by TN state trooper.  He said a report had come in about a vehicle with NY plates driving erractically, too slowly.  It was about 8:00am, in the mountains, socked-in with fog.  I was on a narrow mountain road with switch back turns and 18% grades.  I'd never been there before.  Yes, I WAS driving slowly and probably erractically to the impatient fellow in the van behind me.  I do that when I wish to avoid driving off a mountain, smashing into a cliff, hydroplaning off a tight curve.  I must have made him late for work.  The sheriff's first question was whether I'd had a bit too much to drink!  Then, whether I was very tired.  Then he could see I was neither drunk nor tired.  He saw camping gear in the trunk and clothing, books, and a beautiful Crucifix in the back seat.  While waiting for my "record" to come in, we had a nice talk. He was Baptist and asked a few questions about things he'd heard about Catholics.  He was glad to learn Catholics didn't pay the priest to forgive their sins.  He looked at the 6th chapter of gospel of St. John, and agree to at least CONSIDER a literal interpretation.  He was surprised to find a Catholic who owned a Bible and who "knew" the Bible.  At last it was discovered I had nothing but a few parking tickets, no moving violations, not even a misdemeanor to my name.  I gave him a holy card of Christ in the Garden.  He sent me on my way.
If you wish to avoid getting pulled over, ever, then don't drive.  Or make sure your car is in perfect condition-  but even that wouldn't have helped me!
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

The US Federal government already takes your tax money and your social security money and uses it to pay for murderous wars, abortions, and the export of satanic values (the gαy ambassadors to the Philippines and the Vatican, for example).

So, golly gee.  Do you support those things since you pay taxes?

Or, do you not pay taxes?  Do you try to do like Ann Barnhardt, and you refuse to pay your taxes?  Who here does that?

Or how about those taxes you pay when you go to fill up your car with gas, or get your products or items from the store?  Do you also refuse to pay those taxes?  Do the clerks and sales representatives sympathize and understand your refusal to pay those taxes?

    ..................

I thought had occurred to me.  When Christ said "Render to Cesar what is Cesar's, I'm sure it was at a time when Cesar was doing abominable things with tax money.

  • ObamaCare "solution":--My employer-based health plan meets the ObamaCare criteria.  I never see the money.  The only case in which I give the money I actually earn is if I use the services provided.  There is an assigned (no choice) healthcare provider.  I can go to a public hospital.  There is no "out-of-network" provision except for when out of zoned area and requiring emergency care.  And then one must have first paid the yearly deductible of $5,800.   If I go elsewhere, I am "self-pay."  The catch here is that few physicians are in a position to opt out of accepting insurance.  With ObamaCare, nearly none.  For me, the deductible is prohibitively expensive--and it's going up!  The assigned provider also provides abortions next door to his office.  The end result is that I do without what Americans have come to expect as routine healthcare.  If I get sick, I go to a naturopath, not an MD.  I pay out-of-pocket.  I get occasional meds. through friends in Europe where what I use is over-the-counter.  I take homeopathic and 'natural' meds for the rest.  What if I have a "catastrophic event"?  I'll leave that up to God. What do Catholics do in Europe, Australia, Canada?  All of those places have Socialized Medicine where the people fund immorality, like it or not.  Where do we draw the line?  Use no gas, buy no products?  Live off the land for everything?  What about property taxes?  Do we all become squatters who wander from place to place?
Now, I'm being ridiculous, I know.  Let's hear some SERIOUS solutions instead of name-calling, rash judgment, foolishness.  I fully realize MOST people cannot live as I do.  So my way is not a "solution" in the broad sense.  Ideas, anyone???

Obama-care is just a ruse to allow the tribe to full take control of US healthcare industry, or 20% of the national economy.

If I face jail for something I have done wrong, I have reason to be afraid.

If I face jail, torture or whatever other persecution for the cause of Christ, I not only have no reason to fear, but I have every right to rejoice, because the spirit of glory and of God rests on those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake.

Our Lord Jesus Christ promised the Kingdom of Heaven to those who worthily endure suffering for His Name's sake. I would welcome every second of it all.

I do not boast in this; the strength and boldness are not my own. I cast myself upon the mercies of Almighty God in Jesus Christ Our Lord and cling to every promise that is secured by His Passion.

    How's this for creepy?
Driving from VA into MD on Thurs., I found myself staring directly into a hand-held video camera.  A state trooper, MD, was standing on the road at a light, filming directly into the front windows of cars that stopped on red.  This was on a secondary commercial road.  I instinctively gave a dopey smile, and he backed off when I lowered the window.  The light turned so I never learned what was the idea.  Checking for acne?  Somehow, I doubt it.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
