When I saw the thread title, I thought it literally was about British sheep breeds, like Cotswolds or Swaledales.
I too was shocked by the story, and simply cannot comprehend how anybody can watch such a terrible act and not be compelled to
do something. Apparently, it's more important to capture the moment "on film", but not come to the aid of the victim or subdue the attackers.
May God bless that lady for her bravery.
I think in general, life is so cheapened by society that such (lone) acts of bravery will be become more and more uncommon. There probably was nothing that could have been done for the victim at that point- but the disrespect is still revolting to me. There is just no natural inclination to protect the defenseless for some people. Even the desire to protect my sheep from danger is overwhelming, to the degree that I put myself in harm's way sometimes. How much more important is the life of a fellow human being?
We should pray for the soldier's soul.
