  • Although I have numerous issues w/Glenn Beck I must say he got it right on this one.

    Beck on British sheep

I was horrified that no men stepped forward to deal w/the killer and that people would take pictures!

Wonder no more why women feel the need to carry a firearm.

  • When I saw the thread title, I thought it literally was about British sheep breeds, like Cotswolds or Swaledales.

I too was shocked by the story, and simply cannot comprehend how anybody can watch such a terrible act and not be compelled to do something.  Apparently, it's more important to capture the moment "on film", but not come to the aid of the victim or subdue the attackers.

May God bless that lady for her bravery.

I think in general, life is so cheapened by society that such (lone) acts of bravery will be become more and more uncommon.  There probably was nothing that could have been done for the victim at that point- but the disrespect is still revolting to me.  There is just no natural inclination to protect the defenseless for some people.  Even the desire to protect my sheep from danger is overwhelming, to the degree that I put myself in harm's way sometimes.  How much more important is the life of a fellow human being?

We should pray for the soldier's soul.
The good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.  But the hireling, and he that is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and flieth, and the wolf catcheth, and scattereth the sheep.  A

  • We choose virtual over reality these days.  It's not 'real' if it's not on camera.  More likely, we refuse reality when we can hide behind the camera.  Why intervene at risk to life when fame can be instantly, painlessly attained for a post that 'goes viral'?
In the past year there have been two fatal subway platform shovings in NYC.  Both appeared on the front page in color, and instantly "went viral" on-line without moral or legal question as to the role of the holder of the camera-phone.  The sheeple are well-trained into docility in the face of evil to be "without natural affection" for the soul of his fellowman.
And yes, it IS no wonder that many women choose to arm themselves.  Why did no able-bodied male witnesses to this atrocity make an attempt to rescue the soldier and kill the machete-wielding murderer?  I'd accuse you male Britons of being a bunch of wimps and pansies, but for the fact that Americans aren't much better.  May God have mercy on us.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
