  • I'm guessing these two didn't say the Rosary together. I think that was the source of their problems.

  • This girl jumped onto his moving car...she killed herself. I don't think he should be charged, even though he sounds like a scuм bag.

  • These kind of things wouldn't happen at all if teens weren't engaging in casual sɛҳuąƖ relationships.

Probably the guy was not serious, the gal got her feelings hurt, teenage hormones went amuck.  There's several stories about some sort of violence resulting from crazy sex-hormone raging teens every year.

  • Candlelight vigils are something ecuмenical? Is that correct? It seems so to me since people who die and were simply naturally good are honored irregardless of whether the person was Catholic. What is the point if even also some do not believe in the existence of the supernatural realm?

Miss Fluffy, that is just an assumption.  Rash judgment.

And I don't mean to point the finger, however, were you not you also involved with your partner?

I am very sorry for the loss of your baby by the way.

You're right, I was commenting haphazardly.  I was making a guess, and I could be wrong.  But I didn't mean this as a condemnation for these confused teens, rather society in general, and their parents.  I grew up in public schools, I know what it's like, and was in the thick of it myself. It is because of my experience that I know many teens are sɛҳuąƖly active, and it results in bad things.  Generally, someone gets way too attached while the other is just having a good time.  Teens are not expected to seek marriage, but they are expected to have casual sex, which is all okay if they use condoms.  This causes a very volatile environment in most high schools.

I don't understand why my personal troubles needed to be brought up?   Is this going to be thrown at me every time I comment on social woes?  I am in a particularly grave situation, I'm engaged to someone whom I have been seeing for nearly 6 years, we used to live together before we converted to Catholicism.  We do try to do what's right, but we are fallen beings, ones who have years of bad habits to overcome.  Give me a break.

  • I think Miss Fluffy means that in cases like this, they virtually HAVE to be slaves to their passions or they wouldn't react so "passionately" to a break-up, etc.

You only see crazy, reckless, violent, despairing and other passionate behavior among those who haven't learned to moderate their passions and desires. Those who put few (if any) restraints on their passions tend to not be virgins, shall we say.

Not that every violator of the sixth/ninth commandment is violent, despairing, out of control, etc. -- but the other way around IS usually true.

When you are in a chaste relationship, no matter what happens (break-up, etc.) you are never tempted to get a gun and kill people, kill oneself, beat someone up, have a fight, etc. Usually it's only when a couple has "become one" and then gets ripped apart for whatever reason.

It's sort-of natural (or at least expected) that this should happen, because the original behavior is not according to God's plan. God designed marriage to be permanent, and to help avoid problems like the one in the article above.

    In Christ,

    Matthew

Am I missing something?  Aren't we all sinners?  By your comment, then none of us can ever comment on the terrible state of society.  Not only that, it was just plain rude.

  • Why can't she say that. It is most likely the truth this is what happens when people are obssessed, feel as though they have a right to the other person's body. Nonsense, call something what it is and stop apologizing for it. To say Miss Fluffy was rushing to judgment is a to try to rationalize away a serious problem in our world today. It proves that liberalism is a mental disorder. And, another thing to point out Miss Fluffy's past smacks of taking comfort in another's sins so that yours don't look so bad. Misery loves company and I think it is wrong for people to always through her sins in her face.
Hey, if you don't stop I tell you MY SINS of the past and you will get a migraine :roll-laugh1:
