    • Someone posted this quote on another thread and to remove the possibility of it derailing the thread,  I started this thread precisely on the subject:

    • Yeah, the communists already have everyone divided on race, gender, class, status and religion. Let’s not further divide on age/generation.  The “boomers” also helped keep Tradition alive the last 30 decades.  There’s good and bad in every category of people.

If you want to talk politics and economics, the Boomer profile is even bleaker.

    Obviously not literally ALL boomers are responsible for this, just like not all blacks are criminal. We're talking about groups and what's true at the group level. It is exceptional for a Boomer to have guarded tradition. Not characteristic.

    I agree with Matto here.  And, of course, it's not all of any generation.  This is a generalization, but it is a generalization that is accurate to describe society at large.  

    The "greatest" generation wanted their kids to have all the things they couldn't have during the depression and war years.

    The "boomer" generation lapped it all up and abandoned God.

    The "millennials" and beyond became self-hating narcissists...I know, it's a contradiction in terms but this is exactly what I'm seeing in popular culture today.

    And it all came courtesy of the Modernists who began infiltrating society with the Protestant revolution.

    It is really sad though how much Boomers have hurt society. They have done so much bad to society. If you go to the mall to buy clothes, you will see Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, and Beatles shirts. The baby boomers wouldn't be caught dead when they were young in the sɛҳuąƖ revolution with shirts of music from the 1910's like Louie Armstrong, Scott Joplin, or Jelly Roll Morton. That's the sadness right there. The baby boomers pander clothing to young people from the 1960's bands. Their parents didn't do this to them or if they did it was very rare. Many baby boomers even found Elvis or Frank Sinatra to be "square". Many found their parents to be "square" too.

    But wait, let's not forget the generation that parented the "lost generation" (birth years 1890-1915).  They were the ones who introduced indoor plumbing (1840's) and the radio (1890's).  Nothing builds character like carrying a chamber pot or using a pit latrine (i.e. outhouse), especially in winter.  All the bad things that are said about television and the internet today were said about radio back then.

    To be fair, the boomers were children, teenagers and young adults when the 60s sex/drug/V2 revolutions came about.  The main blame is to be laid on the WW2 generation, who gave up the Faith (quite willingly) for the easier, “positive” V2.  The WW2 generation also accepted birth control and divorce.  The boomers just lived through the aftermath of all of this change.  Most of them accepted it, yes, but the WW2 generation is mainly responsible.

    That is wrong, it is just the same old dung, blaming a generation when this has been going down since before WWI. There isn't one boomer, GenX or Millenial that would not have fallen for any of what happened the last 120 years if they lived in that time. It's easy now to see, hindsight is 20/20.

    • I'm amazed to see how people removed by 2 generations seem to know (at least they THINK they know) what things were like 70 years ago.
    Could it be that in the 1880's when the devil was given MORE POWER AND TIME the people just weren't ready or prepared for his enslaught?
    With your 20/20 hindsight vision are you doing any better?  From what I see here on CI MANY have fallen into his traps......so maybe take the beam from your own eyes before digging for mine.
