Is this for a daily one or for a general confession?

It is helpful to have a few for one's rotation, to ensure we never miss anything.

Fr. Leonard Goffine's Devout Instructions is an excellent source from 1896, Daily Examen on p. 529: https://archive.org/details/goffinesdevoutin00goffuoft/page/n541/mode/2up

As a side note: it also contains commentaries on the Epistles and Gospels for all Sundays and feast-days/holy-days, a method of praying the Mass at home when sick etc., Morning & Evening prayers, and other lovely things.

The Golden Manual, an Irish prayer book from 1850 is solid of course! Daily examen from p. 40-41: https://archive.org/details/TheGoldenManual/page/40/mode/2up

Book IV, Chapter VII is given in the Imitation of Christ as an examination of conscience, on p. 378: https://archive.org/details/imitationchrist00unkngoog/page/378/mode/2up

The EOC in the back of Father Lasance's missal is very good:

It begins on page 1793.

In order to do a good examination of conscience, it is necessary to know what false beliefs could be sinful.

It won't be useful to everyone here, but I suggest looking at the Oath Against Modernism written by St Pius X in 1910. This is an excellent text in order to renounce known heresies.

If you believe in any of the statements denounced by St Pius X, you need to get rid of them.
