I was speaking with a friend and she was wondering (and I as well) what the best form of government/economy would be given the modern amenities, tecnhology, transportation, and communications that we have today, as well as the fact that the world at large (despite that it shouldn't be this way) is not moral. If the US had the opportunity to redo our government and economic system, what would be the best one to put in its place? It seems that many times, when speaking of the best form of government, it is always spoken of in regards to a Catholic state (which is definitely something that should be thought of and considered), but considering that we don't have a Catholic state... It is a great thing, a "should be" situation - and I *believe* it is disputed even still among Catholics what the best form of government/economy would be in a world that was predominantly Catholic. But those are two considerations that I would appreciate other people's input on. So, at the risk of being repetitive here's my questions:
1. What is the best form of government and economy for our day and (immoral) age?
2. What is the best form of government and economy for a Catholic society?
