  • This is my finals week (please pray for me!) and I've been spending a lot of time at work on my laptop. After I finish up finals, however, I want to really get into some spiritual reading. I have many a book on my shelf to read, including some amazing works like Intro to the Devout Life and Imitation of Christ, but I'm looking for something from the Eastern Church specifically, because their particular way of worship speaks to my soul more than just about anything else.

It can be written by any of the Eastern Churches, but a spiritual work by a Church that uses the Byzantine rite would be preferred. Also, preferably pre-Vatican II. Thank you all and God bless!
