  • Wasn't sure where to post this, so sorry if this is the wrong subforum. But I was listening to some Perry Como songs when I stumbled onto this absolute gem - his rendition of Ave Maria. It's crazy to think that a man who was a famous and popular singer, a superstar(had 3 Hollywood stars and a hugely successful TV show), only a few decades ago would come out with such a beautiful Catholic song as this. Can you imagine any modern day celebrity coming out with something like it? Hardly. Anyway here it is:

You should read his Wikipedia page if you have the time. He was really a stand-up man and a very devout Catholic.

  • How dare anyone give this post a thumbs down! For me it brought tears immediately. I saw images of Our Lady with knives through her heart. It reminded me of what she and her Son must be suffering seeing the hatred for Catholicism now in the world and especially here in Ireland, a once very Catholic country that has recently voted for sodomite 'marriage' and abortion. They are even trying to get rid of the holy saintly names of once Catholic hospitals and places. Even a St Vincents charity shop near me has painted off the St sign, leaving it now just Vincents.

Given the distress this has brought on the few remaining Catholics, we cannot imagine how Our Lady and Jesus are taking it.

Thus, to hear this song, no matter who sings it, we can join in with it and pray to Our Lady as she prays for us.
