    • Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't there a function on some forums that if a person gets to a certain point of ill repute - vocally or by enough down- thumbs - they will automatically be banned from the site? Therefore, if C.I. has this function and you really want him gone, I suggest down- thumbing all his posts (but that's a LOT of work to do!).

    It appears LoT is already employing this tactic against anyone who criticizes him. I myself have never said anything against him (though the above paragraph may constitute an attack?), but upon making the above suggestion for those who are at odds with him, he immediately down-thumbs me and seemingly everyone else within moments... Surely he's not sitting at his computer constantly hitting the refresh button to see the latest post all day long!

    Seems that someone is. I know that I might be the smelly kid but, I barely just got here and my ratio is 1:2.

    I check my head for sixes regularly. Nope, so, really? Did I kill someone's dog? Did I vote for Shillary? What?

    • There are 2 actions we could potentially do.

    1) hit 'report to moderator' button on all his posts.  I don't want to annoy Matthew, but maybe this will get his attention and he could issue LOT a warning.
    2) was going to put that we all 'ignore' him, but I don't see that option anymore.

    If what you meant was annoy, then the reason is he replies constantly, without regard to what is being said, with random quotes from random places. No one is talking to him and bam, random spam. It's annoying. We are all fully able and willing to argue with him in the appropriate thread, but that's not what he is doing. We are anything but frightened.

    • Annoying would be the first thing that comes to my mind... like a telemarketer, even if they truly had something worthwhile to buy, I wouldn't ever know.  I wouldn't give them the time of day because of their annoying tactics.

    Yeah. This. The right thing the wrong way is the wrong thing. It's like delivering meds to your kid with an assault rifle. You got 'nap time' covered forever, but I'd call it a bust all summed.

    • Perhaps you can lead be example and leave rather than whining about others. You have twice as many negative votes than positive so why don't you leave?  If other members annoy you either ignore them or delete your account.

      As I was trying to indicate by questioning your use of the word "just", it isn't the only reason. That could actually be an opportunity to exercise virtue, and certainly wouldn't be adequate justification to boot anyone.

     either ignore them or delete your account.

    Except the content rarely has much to do with Fr. Feeney. It is usually just a derisive word for people who reject BoD/B, and really does disservice to the departed Fr. to boot.

    It's a bad title that is front loaded with brattiness and is a particularly skeevy and heavy handed form of "Intellectual" deck-stacking.

    It's like rigging a topic in a debate. For example, you don't see too many debates where Atheists actually have to take up a positive/pro position that is logically consequent to their "non-position". It is almost invariably along the lines of "Does God exist" or anything where Theists have to always be on D while the Atheist sits back and says "I don't have to prove anything. We have an absence of believe. It's a non-thing!"
