Title: Bad news for Cassini
Post by: cassini on August 23, 2025, 07:14:57 AM
Over the last two months i have been diagnosed with motor neurone disease

Gradually all my muscles deteriorate until death.

Already my arms and legs are losing their function.

If I disappear from CIF you will know what happened.

Will keep going as long as I can.

Your friend Cassini.

Some inspiring words of Archbishop Lefebvre that I just stumbled across to comfort you:

There is the entire mystery of Christian civilization. There is that which is the root of Christian civilization: the comprehension of sacrifice in one’s life, in daily life, the understanding of Christian suffering, no longer considering suffering as an evil, as an unbearable sorrow, but sharing one’s sufferings and one’s sickness with the sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in looking upon His Cross, in assisting at the Holy Mass, which is the continuation of the Passion of Our Lord upon Calvary.

Once understood, suffering becomes a joy and a treasure because these sufferings, if united to those of Our Lord, if united to those of all the martyrs, of all Catholics, of all the faithful who suffer in this world, if united to the Cross of Our Lord, they then become an inexpressible treasure, a treasure unutterable, and achieve an extraordinary capacity for the conversion of other souls and the salvation of our own. Many holy souls, Christians, have even desired to suffer in order to unite themselves more closely to the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ. There you have Christian civilization...

Sorry to hear about your recent new challenge.  It seems when we hit our 70's God allows us to start our purgatory, and then in our 80's things intensify.
I guess we're given the opportunity to have the end (lessening purgatory) justify the means.
Will offer prayers for your perseverance.

Dear Cassini,

Like so many others, I am much indebted to the great clarity of vision and some really profound insights you have shared in your very knowledgeable and dare I say inspiring posts on CathInfo.  I am especially indebted to your relatively little known -- it certainly deserves a much wider audience by placement on Amazon and elsewhere  -- yet highly riveting and informative The Earthmovers which I've striven to bring more notice to by my OP today at The Earthmovers - The Library - Catholic Info (https://www.cathinfo.com/the-library/the-earthmovers-77707/).  May that your severe health condition bring you by the grace of God closer to the love of Christ Crucified.  Know that you ARE in my prayers.

Dear Cassini, I only just discovered today a post of yours outlining the main points of your book. It was extremely helpful and I intend to study your book cover to cover. I love the title! May God bless you and keep you close to His Sacred Heart, may He give you the love and strength to bare this infliction - and if it be the will of God - that you discover a way of putting it into remission. The brain is an incredible thing. As your work proves!

In our prayers - will get a Mass said for you!

Go to the thread 'The Earthmovers' - a poster called Mat183 has posted information regarding the book and author. I've asked him where we can get hold of the book to purchase. History is my great love and its the first time in a long time I have come across an author so in tune with what really happened.

Dear friends on CIF, I am overwhelmed with the prayers and sympathies sent to me with regard to the days ahead. Needless to say I now understand and share Christ’s agony in the garden, asking the Father to help while knowing His will will be done. As a Catholic I can offer what is ahead for the salvation of other souls.Thank God for my faith. I can still type with one hand.

I also read about the post regarding my book THE EARTHMOVERS, GALILEO'S REFORMATION. I have no doubt God asked this one time mink-farmer to correct that lie that all the Fathers were wrong in their moving-sun meaning of Scripture, and that popes in 1616, 1633 and 1664 were wrong in the Galileo case for 33 years. I am no scholar, never read a book before I was 50, and it was this book that inspired me to investigate the whole subject of the Galileo case. It was then God put me in contact with many people whose writings added to my task to find out how Satan fooled the world and popes that changed  how humans viewed the universe and how popes changed the supernatural Creation, the Holy Bible, and the supernatural to a secular view of origins. God then put a Catholic man of science in touch with me to show me the scientific truths that were abandoned by most. It was this U-turn on a formal heresy that led to modernism and the decline of supernatural Catholic faith on Earth for many and how the Church was led from a 100% supernatural Creation to a secular one based on delusionary ‘science’ billions of years ago. When I tried to tell the truth on Catholic forums I was banned very quickly. Only CIF allowed the truth be discussed and for that I am so grateful. I will end now and discuss TE on the other post. Meanwhile I will add all on CIF on my prayers.

Lecithin in animal fats is essential for neuron cells.
Also, try ivermectin. Neurodegeneracy could be caused by worms/parasites ivermectin kills.

YES Germia, my CIF name is after God's astronomer.

Cassini’s talent as a surveyor was also well known. In 1657 he was asked by Pope Alexander VII to resolve a dispute regarding the flow of the River Reno between Bologna and Ferrara that was causing flooding. For the next seven years Domenico Cassini was occupied with similar work around the Papal States, spending only a little of his time at astronomical studies.

While working for Alexander VII, Cassini sent a letter to the Jesuit Riccioli recommending the Immaculate Conception be celebrated as a special feast day. This happened 200 years later in 1854 when Pope Pius IX made it a dogma.

I will post a copy of his book translated into English in the library section for any interested.

Cassini I will be praying for you. Can I suggest that you pray the prayers of reparation to the Holy Face of Jesus? There is a promise that he will work miracles by his holy face. 2 such miracles have already been recorded by the Sisters of the Holy Face of Jesus In Ireland in recent years, through people making the prayers of reparation. One miracle was a person recovered from stage 4 cancer, and another was that someone recovered from a full body disability. You can find the prayers here: https://carmelitesholyface.com/prayers

The latest miracle was recorded in the sisters most recent newsletter and the other one was recorded in an older newsletter.

I'm sorry to hear that. Isn't there anything that can be done? I don't know anything about such conditions. There was a time not long ago I thought I wasn't long for this world. To tell u the truth, I didn't really sweat that because this world is very hostile to true Catholics, and my own family probably thinks I'm an extremist. I don't know because I don't talk to them much at this point.. too much water under the old bridge.

Anyway, I will pray for you. Have others pray also and who knows... I've heard of people recovering through prayer alone. I don't want to get your hopes up because it's just something I've read about.. never knew anyone who was actually cured that way (that I know of).
Do you pray the rosary regularly...  Visit the Real Presence?

Thank you for your prayers. I am overwhelmed by all the prayers being said for me. If the good Lord wanted more prayers He knew how to get them. I say endless rosaries myself and dwell on the Agony in the Garden. I feel blessed with the faith that lets me know I can get to heaven to be with my late wife Liz again. I have received the Last Rights as my illness is 100% terminal. MN IS A SLOW DISEASE. I was given a year but the progress of disability is unknown, it could be sooner or later. Legs and hands nearly numb now and will eventually stop being able to eat and breath. There will come a time I can no longer type even with one hand. When that happens I will get someone to let you know.
I am fortunate with 5 children, all good Catholics.
Meanwhile I will carry on as usual until that happens.
Thank God He has given me time.

Cassini; Many prayers.  There is a nun, says she is, which does not believe, in her opinion, that there is some real priests with ordination. She had surgery to her back and is now trying to recover.  I did give her 2 phone numbers of priest in her area.  We keep all to prayer.

Both hands and feet 95per cent paralyzed. Can just use fingers of left hand to type very slowly.
Sons looking after me at home thank God.
I miss outside life. Get Holy Communion in house by priests.
Many thanks for all your prayers.

I will keep praying for you.
I's good to know that you are being taken care of. Both body and soul.
May God bless you.

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen

You are and have been in my prayers.  Thank you for those copies of your works that you sent me.  I was caring for my mother when she passed away in December, and she kept asking when she could go.  What you will see and know when you enter into eternity, none of us can even begin to imagine.  St. Paul, who saw it and returned, declared that human language does not suffice to even begin to describe it.

People have this mistaken notion that Heaven is a static place, but our souls are elastic, meant by God to stretch toward infinite capacity.  So, for all eternity we will be increasing in love and knowledge, since we will never catch up to God ... but will continue to trend toward infinity ... provided we have not rejected Him, of course. During the Summer between my Junior and Senior years, those who of us taking AP Calculus the following year had to take a class called "Limits", and that class left a profound impression on me more than any other Math class.  We were dealing with the infinity symbol and concretely experienced how we can never actually arrive at infinity, since at every step there's another, then another, etc.  So we expressed every equation as "trending toward infinity".  But you can never actually get there.

That's why the human soul can never be satisfied with any finite goods, since we get bored with it and restless for more, since the soul always has capacity for more.  People experience this when they buy a new car or a new house, that it's amazing at first, but then over time you get used to it and it "gets old" and you're bored.  This is why some rich people will buy 100 cars.  But they could buy a thousand and eventually they would get to know them all and be bored.  Or it's why they have a dozen homes, each a mansion.  Even though it will take longer, you will eventually know and experience everything there is to know about them all ... and then get bored.  I imagine that those mansions Our Lord spoke of in Heaven will constantly be renewing and reconfiguring themselves, so that it will seem as though every morning you're "waking up", as it were, to a brand new mansion, with this one being on an ocean front, the next in the mountains, the woods, snowy, rainy, wet, sunny ... and not limited even by these ordinary concepts.  Just go through some online home listings and pick those that are over a million dollars and just go from one to the next, looking at all the pictures .... and imagine that every time you started to get bored with one, you'd be able to switch to another.  Or find pictures of different places in the world.  That's akin to how it would feel.

So, there's a sense in which I disagree with St. Augustine in his characterization of 'resting" in God, since rest can imply a static condition.  What's meant by rest there is that the soul will never feel unsatisfied or lacking anything, but that's because as soon as the soul has had its fill, God gives more, and stretches its capacity.  So, as I said, the soul is elastic, and while always filled to 100% capacity, its capacity will be stretched.  Constantly.  For all eternity.  Think of it like a water balloon.  As soon as it fills to capacity, it will stretch forever ... and this will never stop, since we can never catch up to God. So this "resting" in God will be a dynamic state, lasting forever

You will quickly be reassured that you were right about geocentric earth, but will be surprised to see that we FLERFers were right.  I'd place a friendly wager on it, and perhaps God will permit you to report back.  If you can do so, I'll wager 10 Mass intentions on it.  In either case, whether I'm right or wrong ... let me know somehow and you'll have 10 Masses coming in your direction.  ;)

God bless you, Cassini.  You are a good Catholic and I will pray for you.  May St Robert Bellarmine, one of the patrons of science, help you and keep you, for all the work you did to defend the Truth.

Someone I admire greatly described heaven as a  fireball of  (euphoric) dynamism and inspired activity fueled by the constant  energy created by the furnace of Love and Light emanating from the 4 relationships within the most Holy Trinity/the Beatific Vision.
Somehow this will be individualized and not nebulous, although there will be a integrative collective of Worship, awe, joy and love
As Ladilaus said , God by nature is a Creator and not static.
There is no way I can say this is real but it seems right.
In otherwords eye has not seen.....
As I get older this idea of Heaven gets more profound and "enticing" to me and I wonder /pray about if often.
The present disintegration of the world is making the veil much thinner every day.
Hopefully it's the destiny of us all.

Thank you all for your prayers. Thank you Ladislaus and Josef for your thoughts. I was supposed to lose the use of my throat muscles and die from food pneumonia, Alas they are fine so it looks like I will have to wait a little longer to die now.  As one would expect I dwell on what my death will be like, something that one doesn’t do when normal. What happens at that moment. I think about the relatives and friends who have gone before me, they already know what happens. I name most of them when I say my rosary. I pray the seven sorrows of Our Lady while getting to sleep at night. My final wish is that God will forgive me my sins and that heaven to me would be to be joined with my wife Liz and all my family and friends forever with God, Our Lady and saints in heaven. I hope that Jesus, who, when He died, and was joined with His foster dad Joseph, the same name as my dad, and then His mother Our Lady, will do the same for us. I worry about Purgatory, do we all as sinners have to go there. Recently a niece played videos of my childhood, then with me, Liz and my own children visiting my mom and dad in the country and then my mom’s 80th and 90th birthday nearly 30 years ago. How sad it was to see them alive and happy and then more so that so many in the film are long gone now. As one who can see the infinite ability of God in his creation, I do know there is no limit to the happiness He has in store for those who get to heaven.  God help us all.

Dear Cassini, you are not forgotten!

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation; that we also may be able to comfort them who are in all distress, by the exhortation wherewith we also are exhorted by God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.

Praying for Cassini, his five children and his family
:pray::pray::pray:

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee; O refuge of sinners, Mother of the dying, forsake us not at the hour of our death; obtain for us the grace of perfect sorrow, sincere contrition, the pardon and remission of our sins, a worthy receiving of the holy Viaticuм, and the comfort of the Sacrament of Extreme Unction, in order that we may appear with greater security before the throne of the just but merciful Judge, our God and our Redeemer. Amen.
