St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • I hear this often, usually from older people. We have four and one on the way. "Oh, I wish we'd had more," they say - as they drive away in their Cadillac Escalade.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  •
A neighbor to a relative of mine in a senior community surely wishes she'd had children.  She was discovered unconscious on the floor by her home health aide.  Meanwhile, two Cadillacs, an Escalade, a speedboat, and a 35 ft. fifth-wheeler camper sit unused in her garages behind the indoor heated pool, also unused.  Her husband died in 2008 and she had a stroke a few months later.  She is presently in the hospital and will be soon transferred to a nursing home.  To date, she's had one visitor, my relative who is attempting to get her placed nearby, but the reality is that the state of Florida can place her anywhere.  If she's over 25 miles away, that will mean no visits from her former neighbor who is also a widow, living alone.  Unlike this unfortunate woman, my relative has three adult children and six adult grandchildren, as well as a younger brother who can take charge, if need be.  Despite frequent offers, she chooses to live 1,200 miles from her nearest relative.

  • There is an analogous saying to this topic.

A person who lives like a king, dies like a dog.
A person who lives like a dog, dies like a king.

"As the head of the Church, I cannot answer you otherwise: The Jєωs have not recognized Our Lord; therefore we cannot recognize the Jєωιѕн people." -Pope St. Pius X

"No Jєω adores God! Who say so?  The Son of God say so."
