Looking for two references

• Ave María Purísima:

I am looking for two references:

1) A papal docuмent that mentions the principle to always interpret ambiguous statements in their heretical or scandalous sense. I'm pretty sure that the Dimonds have referenced this to overcome plausible deniability in docuмents by VII "popes", but I don't even know where to start searching in all their videos. IIRC this docuмent is by some Pope of the late 18th - early 19th century, after the French Revolution.

2) A decree by the Holy Office under Pope St. Pius X which says that a catholic is forbidden to say "rest in peace" in reference to somebody who died outside the Church, and/or is morally obliged to answer that such a person is in Hell if asked. This has been mentioned multiple times here on this forum, but I can't seem to find the exact reference.

Can you help me find them? I think I could by myself, but I'm a little short on time and maybe some of you have them at hand. Thank you.

¡Viva Jesús!

Please, disregard any opinions and references that I have posted that may seem favorable to any traditionalist group, especially those that pertinaciously deny EENS (CMRI, Sanborn, Dolan and associates, for example).

Found it. Pope Pius VI in his bull Auctorem Fidei (1794):
Quote
Whenever it becomes necessary to expose statements which disguise some suspected error or danger under the veil of ambiguity, one must denounce the perverse meaning under which the error opposed to Catholic truth is camouflaged.

Looking for study with theological censures on VII

I think I found this as well:

Quote
The Sacred Congregation of the Propagation of the Faith, under Pope St Pius X, in 1907, in answer to a question as to whether Confucius could have been saved, wrote:

“It is not allowed to affirm that Confucius was saved. Christians, when interrogated, must answer that those who die as infidels are damned”.

Now I'm searching for a study that attaches different levels of theological censure to excerpts taken from VII docuмents. IIRC, that study was done by a group of theologians under the direction of Bp. Antônio de Castro Mayer, but I could be wrong.

I've seen isolated quotes from that study here and there in this forum, but I would like to read it whole. I'll appreciate any help in finding it.

This is pretty interesting as I remember reading and hearing that he could be saved due to unwilling ignorance and died belonging Soul of Church. It's certainly easier to just say infidels are damned without specifying a certain somebody.

Hi, Philothea:

"Outside the Church there is no salvation" is a dogma of the Catholic Faith that has been infallibly proclaimed at least three times by Roman Pontiffs. For instance by His Holiness Pope Eugene IV in his bull "Cantate Domino":

Quote
(The Roman Church) firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that those not living within the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life, but will depart “into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels” [Matt. 25:41], unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that the unity of the ecclesiastical body is so strong that only to those remaining in it are the sacraments of the Church of benefit for salvation, and do fastings, almsgiving, and other functions of piety and exercises of Christian service produce eternal reward, and that no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church.
Salvation of ignorant pagans (Confucius included) merely by their observance of natural law is a heresy known as Pelagianism. More info about this most important matter here.

Thank you Marulus Fidelis and Emilio, that's what I was looking for.
