Average person's vocabulary in the toilet these days

Skip to 2:41 for her long list of words she "didn't know".

0. Yes, Ma'am, I can tell you're wearing TONS of makeup. You're not fooling anyone. Moving on...
1. She is college educated, so she should be "above average".
2. Many words on this list I knew quite well.
3. The rest of the words I could often guess, due to Latin knowledge. They're almost exclusively exotic "barely English mostly Latin" words.

Americans on CI; Who remembers the booklet of analogy and vocabulary words to memorize for the SAT exam?  
Those who do not read have poor vocabularies.

Average person's writing is terrible, too. They can't even write a grammatically correct sentence. Comb through any social media comments, and a majority of them are incoherent slop.
