I wouldn’t expect Joe Biden to live in the rented basement of a suburban split level house, in say, Greenbelt or College Park, or a walk-up in Anacostia. There’s nothing wrong with owning a substantial home in or near DC and perhaps a summer cottage in a rural or vacation community. The President shouldn’t live in a shack or be poverty stricken, although he could do that, if he really wanted to. No, the problem isn’t his wealth, it’s his continuing in open mortal sin as a prominent Catholic. Other Catholics, especially of the n.o. variety may well be tempted and copy his bad example, losing their souls in the process. Seeing a person in national leadership owning multiple homes, vehicles, real estate, etc. is unlikely to tempt weak or ignorant Catholics into lives of sin, more than seeing any other rich guy. A Catholic who is covetous will be that way regardless of anything Joe Biden owns. (Lots of folks own a lot more than Biden, like Trump, for instance!). All but fools know they can’t take any of it with them when they die.
