  • Yes, or just remember the days when it never, ever occurred to me to wonder if it was a sin for me to say it.

It's hard to picture, really:  Anonymous stranger says to me as he's passing by, "Happy Holidays."  I want to reply:  "Merry Christmas!"  But first, I must ask, "Are you Catholic?"  ::)
LOL. :laugh2: No, you must first ask them if they are Catholic, and then ask their status as to whether or not they are aware of the sin of tying their shoes with a bunny going under the loop instead of over.

  • Crypto has an issue with scruples.  I knew he was the OP even before clicking the link when I saw "Is it a sin ..." in the thread title.
Ah, okay, a painful condition to deal with. Not making light of it, so I hope he gets the help from a good Priest. Merry Christmas Crypto!

I had a brief case myself when a Priest kept trying to insist I HAD to go to the convent as a teenager, even though there was no indication that I was entertaining a vocation, desiring one, or had thought of it, and certainly my Mom would have been the first to say something. He made me afraid of a number of things, (including him, and most Priests), and not for the best! But he had other issues, sadly, (he left the Priesthood), and so that's enough of that.

(And the joke was that if I did go to the convent, I would have to be made Mother Superior.) ;-)
