    Hmmm, Tradition is in great need of more than blogs which made a specialty of hand-wringing.

    He was never a Traditionalist. He was never known to have any particular feelings for the Traditional Mass and Liturgy before he retired as Nuncio. He was never known for any specific pronouncements favoring Tradition during his long career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See.
    He made a good contribution on the McCarrick affair, but decidedly after he had left his position as Nuncio to the United States.
    We do not know what he represents, who he speaks for, who writes his works, and what he intends to accomplish. We do not know why Rome has let him say whatever he wants, if he still (apparently) receives a Vatican pension, which he does not need, coming, as he does, from a very wealthy Northern Italian family: it looks weird both for Rome and for him. We would not say he is a conspiracy theorist: there doesn't seem to be a theory anywhere there.
    Tradition is in need of good families, good bishops, holy priests; holy young men and women, in families, seminaries, and religious life; Tradition is in great need of constancy, predictability, and stability. It is not in need of gurus."

    Clearly Archbishop Vigano is NOW a Traditionalist.  You only have to read what he writes.  So no one who hasn't been a Traditional Catholic his entire life can be considered a "Traditionalist"?  Many of us grew up NO.  So, after we converted to Tradition, we were not "true" Traditionalists?  You have to be a cradle Traditionalist to be a Traditionalist?

    I speculated early on, and this was confirmed by +Vigano himself later, that he converted and came around after he started offering the Tridentine Mass.  He went into hiding and took advantage of the Motu to begin offering the Mass, and exposure to the True Catholic Mass is the greatest teacher.

    Having good priests, individual, families, while all important, does not suffice.  Without Catholic leadership, it's just fragmented life-support mode that the Church remains in.  Bishop Williamson refers to it, quite aptly, as a "pilot light".

    Given that rorate caeli is aligned with the literal Judas Iscariots of trad orders (FSSP) I would take the opinion as someone on the other side (the ultra-loyalist to NO hierarchs) of trad world. And I would imagine given his rejection of VII, +Vigano is no friend of them.

    • Rorate Caeli certainly not trustworthy, especially "New Catholic", who seems to be the gatekeeper over there. There is something very effeminate, overly-emotional and snooty in New Catholic's writing style and mode of presentation. As such, for years I've thought NC was a fa66ot, but recently came across info that NC is a woman. Can someone confirm this?

    I guess that's why they feel they don't need a leader, since they already have one in Jorge Bergoglio.  Well, they can enjoy that.  They should follow the mind and spirit of their glorious leader and switch to the NOM, since that is what would please his papal heart.

    • After a re-read, the last sentence of screed from "New Catholic" does read a bit like Opus Dei programming. At first though, it seemed that the good archbishop had disturbed some embedded neocon political construct in his (her?) head. 
    Perhaps a bit of both, since his/her post is one of the sloppiest ad-hominems I've read in recent times.

    That is the one magnificent thing to see of the true Popes of the past: the world would stop and take heed of what he had to say, despite whether they are Catholic or not. You don't have that with Francis, outside of his promotion of the Agenda.

    Agree, iirc prophecies of the GM and Holy Pope coincide with the 3 days, after which they work to restore Christendom and the Church among the remnant.
