LOT,
Yes, you can send us clothes that you're not using, or items you find at yard sales, etc.
T-shirts, henley-style shirts... whatever shirts you would put your girls in to be out and about in can be turned into a fun, pretty dress.
You can certainly choose ankle-length, calf-length or (below the) knee-length for each dress.
If you're sending us shirts to be made into dresses for younger girls, of course, we recommend longer lengths; not only do those little girls grow quickly, it's my experience that younger girls tend to forget themselves a little more easily, and we wouldn't want their modesty accidentally compromised! Longer dresses help when they're learning to sit or climb stairs properly.
If we are using short- or "cap"-sleeved shirts, we would encourage you to make sure your ladies have a wrap or other cover-up if you feel too much of their arms are exposed.
When we make dresses out of shirts that we procure from various sources, we try to make sure that even "short" sleeves are long enough to reach the elbow if at all possible.
Pictures will be available soon; please continue to pray for us. I was working nearly 70 hours a week until I was fired from my job; in caring for a home-schooled brood, my wife had her hands so full with school AND chores AND cooking AND everything that I couldn't do (not being home) that she had very little time to sew.
Our Lord has seen fit to change that aspect of our lives, and our little clothing efforts will be in full swing very soon!
Thanks for all the interest! We've been very encouraged by contacts we've received already!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
