Climate change or some kind of cycle

  • I doubt it's caused by man, but the earth God created is going through some kind of cycle, because we're having crazy issues with the climate right now.
Droughts, heat waves, etc. and it's not just here. Something is going on. I just don't know what.

It makes it even worse when Home Depot puts out ALL their Christmas merchandise (including 3 dozen lit Christmas trees) by 10/16.

I realize it's Texas and we don't get snow, but can we at least wait until we can open the windows sometimes, before we go full Christmas mode?
The A/C is still running 24/7 around here, and not for comfort, but for medical/health reasons. i.e., out of necessity.

  • As far as I know, our lifespans are far too short for us to get a realistic notion of climate changes, and the weather data that we have is far too recent to give us a solid basis. "Experts" will use a lot of modeling and interpolation, and we know how limited these are, specially when we talk about things that happened centuries ago.

I mean, the weather has been kind of unusual all around the world on the last decade or so, but I believe that it is not something out of the ordinary when we think about the big picture.

  • I've never taken the time to really look into "Climate Change", but it would be fitting if it was a punishment from God..as sin increases worldwide, the climate gets worse. But it also wouldn't really surprise me if it was also, at least partly, a result of man's greed. 400+ million tons of plastic alone being produced in a year, and the chemicals released in the process, simply cannot be good for the environment
John 15:19  If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

  • We are in a severe drought here in New England. I think we need to pray for good weather and put a larger emphasis on Rogation and Ember days. I think the climate change narrative is just another way to remove God from man’s mind.

Has it really?  I remember a couple very hot summers in Seattle in the 1960s and in the late 1960s we had three feet of snow.  Never saw that again.  The weather hasn't been any more unusual around the world than it has always been.

My parents were but children in the 1960s, so I have not been around that long, but we've had some events that I had not seen in my lifetime, at least not that I can remember, like some particularly hot summers and extremely dry winters in the area that I live. But, as you point out, it is probably just the regular variation of the climate.

  • It's funny when the weather reporters talk about records, and how in the 1950's or 1890's it was record hot, while they also try to push global warming.

I've seen this as well. When we smash a 100-year record, no one bats an eye that it was ONLY ONE DEGREE HOTTER 100 years ago, when no one owned cars, had an electric bill, and there were no server farms for bitcoin mining, AI, or webhosting.
Basically, mankind was barely touching the earth back then (by their standards I mean: CO2 etc.) -- 1920's Man had only slightly more impact on the earth than monkeys or dolphins.
