The time has come for Catholic (sic) institutions to act Catholic.
The time has also come for private Catholic (sic) benefactors to support Catholic institutions like hospitals, monasteries, etc like they used to do in centuries past.
The State doesn't want to fund a hospital that won't provide murder-for-hire? Fine. The hospital simply goes private and strictly Catholic-only or it simply doesn't offer maternity services.
Does the institution want to be a CATHOLIC hospital, or does it want to be a Catholic HOSPITAL?
Big difference.
If the hospital was founded so that it would provide care IN CHRIST'S NAME and in the name of the TRUE FAITH, then they should jettison whatever the State demands that would hinder them from doing that.
My feeling is that the hospital will roll over and make some sorts of concessions; after all, if they're like most so-called 'Catholic' organizations these days, they're run by, staffed by and presided over at the Episcopal level by people who only care about their bottom line.
Kyrie eleison.
St. Frances Cabrini, lover of the poor and ill, pray for us.
St. Padre Pio, founder of a hospital for God's suffering poor, pray for us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
