Title: anger and forgiveness
Post by: spouse of Jesus on September 03, 2010, 06:38:31 PM
Forgiveness means to let go and get rid of wishing evil for someone who has wronged us. I have all symptoms of anger, resentment and being quarrelsome. Yet I do pray for others and their salvation. I have to watch my feelings and check any sign of pleasure when hearing about sorrows of certain people. But feelings of joy should not be there in the first place. Anger is wrong and very harmful, yet it seems that simply praying that God may bless a wrong-doer and doing him/her good doesn't fully erradicate secret envy and anger.
  Any suggestion?

Back up and push.  If you're angry, ask for the grace to forgive.  If you're really, really angry ask for the grace to want to forgive.  Always be open and aboveboard with God.  Too bad you don't have access to a confessional, as that is where so much healing takes place.  Good luck!
