These types of children make my job secure and they also will one day end up in prison thereby making the jobs of prison guards secure.

A friend of mine who is also a social worker (in a school)said almost exactly the same thing recently.

As colleagues when we are together after work, we discuss the horrendous decay in good parenting, the massive use of drugs by these parents, and the children that are being raised by their 75 year old grandparents because the parents are declared unfit or are in jail.

I think you and my friend would have a lot to talk about. She is very liberal on a number of social and political issues, but would agree completely with you here.
