Amber Alert - leave me out of your relationship drama too!

  • I've said many times, with regards to so-called "Amber Alerts":

Leave me out of your divorce/child custody disputes! Work it out among yourselves. Leave the public out of it.

Well, I need to add one to this:

Leave me out of your relationship dramas as well.

Here is another abuse of the Amber Alert system:

This is CLEARLY a case of a boyfriend/girlfriend situation; one of the parents doesn't approve, yadda yadda. But I would bet money the "kidnapping" was consensual on the part of the 14 year old girl. And I'd also bet large sums of money that MUCH HYPOCRISY could be found, if it were looked for.

Look. Girls are taught in cartoons, movies, social media, and family to start having boyfriends in grade school (under age 12). They dress provocatively and act like precocious little adults from age 5. They are taught sex ed in public schools, given uncensored access to corrupted peers AND the Internet/social media. There is very little religion in their lives AND the lives of their parents. So they by default accept the prevailing American culture/beliefs. And I'll tell you about those beliefs: Evolution, we're just animals, you only live once, do what feels good, etc. In short, a pagan lifestyle. Even those who attend Protestant services on Sunday are still, in daily life, basically neo-pagan.

They teach kids about masturbation in public school now. And 99.9% of Internet and media has a single, strong opinion about virginity: it's a curse.

And you (parents of this 14 year old girl) are telling me you're SHOCKED that a 14 year old young lady found herself a young man and wants to be with him? Give me a break. A 14 year old girl is not a CHILD. And unless some middle-aged man "kidnapped" her, I'm guessing it was consensual on her part. She found him online (or IRL) and decided to get involved with him. It's that simple. What did you expect, really?

The bereaved parents of Amber must be spinning in their graves at abuses like this. It is an insult to every parent who ever had a child kidnapped by a stranger -- not knowing what horrors (before and up to death) were happening to their child.

This story is as old as the hills. Romeo and Juliet. There's the Oldie "I think we're alone now". In the 80's Rod Stewart sang, "Young hearts be free tonight". And I'm sure there are plenty other examples in books, movies, and songs about young people hooking up, despite the dictates of Reason, parents, or those around them.

  • I've been complaining about these for years.  90% of them are stupid custody battles.  What it does though is hurt the cases where children are ACTUALLY abducted / kidnapped / missing vs. this crap, and so people pay less attention to them due to "cry wolf" syndrome.

  • And then there's the American INSANITY that at 17 years 364 days old you're a "child", practically with a thumb in the mouth, but on the next day you magically change form (like a Pokemon, SHINKA SURU, metamorphosing or advancing to the next form) into an Adult, and can go die for your country overseas.

    But one day before? Fuggitaboudit.

My son recently had a sleep study done, which involved going to a facility overnight. He won't be 18 for a couple of months, so a parent had to go with him (maybe hold his hand, get him a glass of water, give him his blankie, perhaps a teddy bear). Ridiculous!

He's taking COLLEGE CLASSES and DRIVES HIMSELF to them in his OWN CAR (which he is paying for with HIS JOB). But he's a "child". How stupid can you get.

...and of course, even at 18 Americans can die for their country in the Military, take on 10's of thousands of debt, make all kinds of permanent life decisions -- but can't drink alcohol. Like I said: full-fledged insanity.

    My thoughts exactly.
Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.

  • We had an Amber alert yesterday. The man shot his wife in the back of the head and abducted their daughter. He did not have custody. So tragic.

Well, in that situation, it's not as if the wife is going to ever regain custody ... but the child would end up in the foster care system, and quite possibly trafficked.  At that point, you're not just looking for a child (who's with one of his parents), but for a criminal.

This is why the Church "spoils our fun" and says we can't commit adultery. People complain about the Catholic Church being so strict on divorce, and being "stuck" in bad marriages. Or they complain that the Church is against "victimless crimes" like the solitary vice. This is why!

If you could look into it, you'd see that EITHER the man AND/OR the woman let their lusts run free, which destroyed their marriage in the first place.

Letting the lower passions run amok leads to countless, pretty much all other, sins: apostasy, murder, theft, hatred, lies, sins of the flesh, more adultery, and countless other sins.

At least...that's what the authorities claim happened.  In many of these cases where a father "abducted" his child, did he really "abduct" the child?  In most cases, as Matthew said above, it's merely a child custody dispute that the godless courts have involved the State in.

Please note that, in America, one can enlist in the military at age 17 (with parental permission) and go "die for your country".

:laugh1: ... I looked after you mentioned it.  And then I caught the "also goes by Ben", meaning that he's a crypto who Americanized Benjamin into Barry.

  • Just in case you were wondering... girl was found, boy was arrested, no one was harmed.  I don't think "in danger" should be the same as "boyfriend is creepy" or "her mom isn't happy".

This guy is certainly no pinnacle of society and was subject to arrest even before this incident, but nonetheless, Amber Alert criteria should be higher than this.
