This is said with a neutral tone.  Don't read into it emotion that is not there.

I don't think it is fair to call someone mentally ill because they hold an opinion different than yours. Most people will make rash judgements against a position they fundamentally disagree with.  In these days and times, we do not have an authority to follow. If we think we are suppose to follow Pope Leo then we should go to his approved places of worship.  It really should be that simple.

I also think that most mental illness happens due to obsessions, or temptations, or something inspired by demons.  We combat demons with charity.  They hate love.  Try this next time. If someone is lashing out at you, then respond with kindness and love and watch the demons flee.

I recently heard a story of a family who was accosted by someone who appeared to have a mental illness. The husband finally said in the name of all Jesus's names leave.  The person (she was hyper focused on the name Jehovah) abruptly turned around and left.

Thank you for the explanation.

Just for future information.  I try to include the review results button at the bottom, so voting isn't necessary.  I hope this helps.  :cowboy:

That's literally not why.

Just read my post more closely. I make all the necessary distinctions and considerations.

In looking at the results of this poll, we can all see that there is many different ideas in the crisis.  I don't believe any group is mentally ill.  Saying so is a rash judgement and in the art of thinking well it is said:

Quote
The Christian law which prohibits rash judgments is not only a law of charity, but of prudence and sound logic. Nothing more dangerous than to judge of an action, and above all of an intention, from mere appearances. The ordinary course of things is so loaded with complicated events, men find themselves in such varied circuмstances, they act from so different motives, they see objects with eyes so distinct, that we often regard as a whim or caprice, what we find, when examined closely and in presence of the circuмstances, the most simple and natural thing in the world.
Maybe you caught the dogmatic sedevacantist on a bad day?  Maybe you were so focused on your own theories you weren't really paying attention to their thoughts on the matter?

All this could be said vice versa.

The main thing is that in the mean time you follow your authority and do your duty and offer sacrifices and conquer yourself. If you don't have an authority, find one, like a spiritual director. Pick carefully because you really shouldn't change them often.  (This is especially important for women picking husbands, because you will be bound to that authority for life.)
