Advice fixing kitchen silverware drawer

While the Crisis in the Church might be unfixable by human hands, perhaps my broken kitchen drawer is within range of human talent for repair.

However, fixing (or replacing economically) this drawer is outside my areas of expertise.

The only solution I know of is to completely replace our kitchen cabinets, including professional installation. I'd prefer a cheaper option, at least for right now.

(Yes, we "could use" a whole set of new cabinets; these are about 23 years old and very cheap/modern quality, designed to last about 15. But that doesn't mean we can afford it.)

Where does one get a standard silverware drawer? The thing is mounted on a roller track and completely comes out of the cabinetry; it's not physically connected to the cabinets. So it SHOULD (at least in an ideal world) be replaceable separately. Home Depot and Lowes don't sell this, so I'm completely out of ideas.

22" x 15.5"
3.5" deep

Yep.  I have the same problem.  I've reassembled it about a half dozen times until the wood finally broke apart just like yours.

There are places online that have the drawer box as a replacement if the front is still salvageable.  You can get decorative front plates also, but they wouldn't match your existing ones.

Here's one place where you can order custom-size drawers, and then you'd need to re-attach the front and the rails.

There are other places that offer the same service.  Do a Google search on "custom replacement drawer boxes" to see competitors.

If you save the old (broken out) front part of the drawer box, you could take out the screws that attach it to the decorative front plate, and lay that on top of the new front part before assembling the new drawer box to drill some pilot holes so the front lines up properly with the holes already in the front piece.

I see three options

Glue and clamp it. Gorilla glue will do the job.
Buy a pocket hole jig. These are very useful.
I like that custom drawer link. Looks like standard drawer cost about $42.

Depending on how handy you are and if you see value in collecting various tools, I would use this as an excuse to buy tools. Also, a simple woodworking project to give the kids.

I looked at the custom link.

When I input my drawer size, including assembly, it comes to about $99. I don't know if that counts shipping or not.

But even if I plunk down the cash, I would still have to carefully mount the 2 side rails AND attach the "cabinet front" (the part you can see while standing in the kitchen) to the box. Both of those tasks seem to be inescapable whatever route I go. They don't make drawers with a cabinet front already on them, apparently. Too many different styles of cabinets and handles.

BTW Lowes DOES have these basic "drawer boxes" -- but not in my size. Most are square shaped. Mine is 15.5" wide and 22" deep. I didn't see any with those dimensions, so I'd have to go the custom route.
