Tell me of the advantages of having children and especially for the future to prepare for old age. What are the benefits from a Catholic view?

Well, I don't have too much time right now to think about an answer because we're about to sit down for a nice little Sunday dinner with our kids. :ready-to-eat: We're looking forward to a visit from some grandkids this week, too! :dancing:

Life is never boring in our house, and so I'm hoping to avoid Alzheimers! :geezer: :wink:

You will not have to go to a nursing home.

You will never lack for love, hugs, and kisses from grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

When the U.S. Social Security fund is gone forever, you will still have some means of support from people who actually know and love you.

Did I mention lots of love, hugs, and kisses which will give you a happiness and joy in your old age?

Oh, and the pleasure of reading Little Red Riding Hood 17 times in a row?

Oh, and the thrill of having a dead fly on a thread dangling over your face to see how much it moves while you are snoring?

Oh, and you'll get to watch videos of dogs and cats doing stupid things for hours on end.

And occasionally in the summer you'll get your favorite ice cream minus a few licks....

A very odd list of ... um ... I guess those are advantages. : )

Good to see you CathMom! I thought you had left us without so much as a goodbye. :-( But, it may just be that we're the only ones who don't go places during the summer.
