Ascension Catholic Church in Manhattan was defaced overnight last night with a threatening message from Jane’s Revenge: “If abortion isn’t safe, neither are you.”
A Winter Haven, Fla., pregnancy center got similar treatment: “We’re coming for U.” Also signed by Jane’s Revenge.
No idea if it’s related, but a Catholic church burned down in West Virginia over the weekend and is suspected to be arson.
I am fairly familiar with the area, and I really don't think Shady Spring, West Virginia (it's near Beckley which was Bishop Patrick Taylor's base of operations) is the kind of place where someone would do something like this, for that reason. It could have just been kids high on dope doing it "just because". It's a pretty conservative, fundamentalist area.
Still, though, it could be on account of the RVW reversal, there are scattered pockets of whiny liberals in Charleston and Huntington, and I assume Morgantown too (WVU).
