  • I wasn't sure where to put this;

    Irish prime minister Enda Kenny has asked Pope Francis to reconsider Vatican disciplinary measures against several priests.

    During a meeting with the Pontiff, Kenny reported that he had raised questions about the status of Father Tony Flannery and Father Brian D’Arcy, among others. He said that he had told the Pope that a relaxation of disciplinary measures would “improve the environment” for a projected papal visit to Ireland in 2018.

    In related news, Father Flannery, who had been forbidden to celebrate Mass or speak in public, defied the Vatican ban, saying that he did not fear any Vatican action. He then called for the removal of the apostolic nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Charles Brown, saying that “he is doing great damage.” Father Flannery said: “I am very much in tune with Pope Francis.”

    Does that mean that the Irish premier is promoting the SSPX?

  • It is really, really hard to do what Fr Tony Flannery C.Ss.R. managed, but he managed to be silenced by the Vatican for preaching error. Apart from the Conciliar reliables of denying teaching on sodomy and contraception, he even denies or questions Apostolic Succession. Archbishop Charles Brown has carried out Traditional confirmations, and is friendly to  (Indult)Tradition, something which evidently enrages Tony. There could be no one more hostile to Tradition.

    Fr Brian D'Arcy CP, Passionist and celebrity Conciliar priest, does not have similar sanctions over him. He should given his suggestion that the atheist Terry Wogan is in heaven. He was a rector of Mount Argus, and his V2 wreckovation wasn't Weakland bad. The altar rails are still there, but used not for NOM Communion, but instead for a blessing with a relic of St Charles of Mt Argus. Overall harmless, if you remember who he is.

    Dermot Morgan sent up Fr Brian D'Arcy very, very well. A spewer of banality and softcore error. Tony Flannery is worse. It takes skill to do what he did.

    Enda Kenny is a standard Conciliarist, going weekly to the New Mass, and denying every possible Dogma which might inconvenience him.

    edit: the quote: 'I am very much in tune with Pope Francis' where he calls for the removal of the Papal Nuncio is accurate, but it shows what a raging egotist he is. If he was more guarded with his words he would be corrupting the people of a diocese or worse. Pray for him.

  • Why is the Prime Minister of Ireland bothering to ask Pope Francis for this favor?  What would be the purpose?  It sounds like the purpose is to further deny Catholic dogma.

    Ggreg was right when he said that in the next few years the Conciliarists are going to make themselves so ridiculous that no one will care what they say.
