A Desire for Conversion

    • Here is a rough translation of something I saw;
    I am a 15 year old girl, newly converted. I am from an atheist family (who also refuse to be baptized, but I'll talk about it later). Being in a Catholic school, I rub shoulders with many believers, men of churches and sisters. Who opened my eyes. So we have a small chapel directly in the school (very pretty by the way).
    In short, it's not really the subject.

    I have several questions when to the Church in general:
    • Can I go to pray in the church while I'm not baptized?
    • I saw that women have to cover their heads, is this obligatory?
    • Are there things I can not do in a church, not being baptized? (Or even in general)
    • How to address a priest or sister? (There are some in my high school)
    • What behavior do you have in a church? / What are the things that absolutely do / do not do?

    I know these questions may be obvious to you, but for me it's a bit complicated because I really do not have an education or religious culture.

    told you a little earlier that my parents do not want me to be baptized. In fact, since I was little I was raised with a principle that is: "I do not believe what I see". Since they have never seen God, they do not believe it. But I believe it. They want us to be (if we want to) baptized as adults, but not before. I would not be baptized before 3 years. And when I went to a Catholic school, they told me: "It's not because you go to a Catholic school that you have to believe and be baptized."
    You see, I'm stuck.

    I was trying to focus on the fact that this girl is wanting to convert and not so much on her other questions. I wanted to bring attention to her situation and others like hers so that we could pray for her and the other souls in her situation. Who knows? maybe one short prayer or one small sacrifice could be the straw that tips the balance in her favor.

    • What an amazing thing. Inspirational. The Holy Spirit speaks and maybe she isn't baptized, but baptism of desire. I'm sure she can walk up to a priest and ask to be baptized without her parents' consent. Perhaps, she'll convert her parents as well. Truly amazing.

    Eventually she will be an adult and then she will be able to make her own decisions on how she wants to live out her life.

    If you Baptise her then you take on all responsibility for her Catholic upbringing.... I dont think it’s wrong, but who ever does it better have it in their mind to support her through it all. They also better make sure they teach her the real faith or else they will just cause her scandal.

    So, many people here cringed when you said that  😂

    But In all seriousness, whoever does baptize her needs to know that they can’t just call the deed done after that. It’s not just as simple as pouring some water than thinking their duty as Catholics is done.

    • I think Baptism is more simple that what most modern Catholics make it out to be.

    That is, if the candidate is taught the basic tenets of the Faith and believes, he's ready to go for a Water Baptism.

    Here's St. Francis Xavier's arm and hand, which are responsible for Baptizing, with Water, between 700,000 and 3 million souls.

    He carried out his priestly missionary vocation as Our Lord wanted it.



    The Baltimore Catechism was surely corrupted with Americanism.

    But , please show me in a pre-19th or 20th Century catechism, where Catholics are responsible for anymore than teaching the basic tenets of the Faith?

    The soul needs the immediate graces of a Water Baptism.
    If the soul has the correct disposition, it will blossom and seek more graces after that.

    She goes to a Catholic school yet she has to go to a public forum to ask questions? What happened to asking the priests and nuns "who opened her eyes"?
