When I awoke today, like so many others experiencing an Easter celebration without the Mass and Sacraments of the Church.
I wanted to know what other Catholics did yesterday, in other words, can you write a little about how you managed to keep the very Holy Day of the Resurrection.
The entire week, in fact, seemed to me to be suspended in time, almost as if time stopped. It was quite eerie. I tried to meditate each day, and pretend I was actually experiencing the mysteries of the sorrowful rosary, but feel as if I failed.
On Easter morning, I slipped over at the Church to make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, the Church was very quiet, just me, God plus a few other. I closed my eyes and just prayed my rosary looking all-around at the sacred images. After about 45 minutes I started hearing some noises in the back of the Church since I was seated toward the front, I had to turn around. I was surprised to see the priest was hearing Confession. Also, I was amazed to see others had joined to visit Our Lord. By this time there were about 20 people.
The idea came to me, if I went to Confession, I could politely ask Father if he would consider giving us Communion, and when I asked him, he said, yes.
With delight, and gratitude I was able to receive Our Lord!
After I came home, I watch the streaming live Mass over the Internet, live as it was happening and almost fell asleep while listening to the beautiful choir. Thinking all along, so this is what it has come to.
Please write a little of how you spent your Easter.
Blessing at Easter, God Bless You,
