Emile Ratelband, a Dutch businessman, wants his official age of 69 to be adjusted with his 'emotional age' of 49. Ratelband claims he is a 'young god' and dating apps discriminate against him due to his age.
A Dutch businessman is making waves after he launched a legal battle to officially roll back his age 20 years – claiming he is a “young god” and dating apps discriminate against him due to his age.
Emile Ratelband, who is -- for now -- 69 years old, told a Dutch court this week he didn’t feel “comfortable” with his date of birth and wished to have it change from March 11, 1949, to March 11, 1969.
“When I’m 69, I am limited,” he said, according to The Guardian. (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/nov/08/dutch-man-69-starts-legal-fight-to-identify-as-20-years-younger) “If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work.”
On Tinder, he says he gets no responses from prospective ladies -- all because of his age.
“When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position,” Ratelband added.
Ratelband, who's also a motivational speaker and trainer in neurolinguistics programming, told the judge he was willing to renounce his right to a pension. He also compared his desire to legally change his age to that of transgender people seeking to change their birth certificates.
“You can change your name. You can change your gender. Why not your age?” he told De Telegraaf  (https://www.telegraaf.nl/nieuws/2762205/ratelband-wil-rechter-overtuigen-ik-ben-49-geen-69)outside court. “Nowhere are you so discriminated against as with your age.”
He told the Dutch newspaper (https://www.telegraaf.nl/nieuws/2762865/met-emile-ratelband-bij-de-rechter-biologische-leeftijd-40-a-45) that his view is supported by medical and physiological reports, saying: “My biological age in the medical world is determined to be at 40 to 45 years.”
Ratelband’s attorney told the Guardian that it was high time for the courts to allow for the reversal of age.
The judge in a court in Arnhem is expected to give a ruling within four weeks, Sky News (https://news.sky.com/story/man-69-who-identifies-as-20-years-younger-begins-legal-battle-to-change-age-11547764) reported.

The insanity is coming to its logical conclusion. Reductio ad absurdam.

We're ignoring reality left and right -- the physical gender you have (including XX or XY in every cell in your body), the differences between the genders, the differences between the races -- why not deny the basic reality of when you were born as well?

Once you start denying the truth/reality, it's hard to create artificial boundaries when to start and stop. Someone will always want to go further.

Just like right now, some are already pushing for rights for "pedosɛҳuąƖs" also known as pedophiles.

My little dog thinks she's a cat.  Do I have to buy a dog license? :laugh1:

.
..
That's a great way to end the story -- the  court is gonna think about it for a month, and get back to him on it. HAHAHAHA
.
(He could appeal saying that's not 20 years but 19 years 11 months. "Why should I have to wait four more weeks when that makes me that much older?")

Question:
If 10% of the population changes its legal age to 20 years younger each year for 5 years, and there is a 1.2% growth rate which includes deaths, what is the effect on the overall mean legal age of the population?
.
Question:
Presuming the court approves this Dutch businessman's motion to reduce his legal age by 20 years, what do you suppose the court is going to say 10 years from now when he wants to do it again?
.
Question:
Does this man have life insurance? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if the carrier takes this opportunity to void the policy. Alternatively, they could answer his case by saying that now he'll never be old enough to be insured because his advancing age based on when he got the policy will always be 20 years into the future, no matter how old his "legal" age is.

I guess the opposite holds true as well. We can all make ourselves over 65 and collect Social Security and Medicare. I wonder if small kids would get dependent Social Security and medicare....hmmmm.

:laugh1:

Most people would just lie about their age on said dating apps.

I wonder how he plans to prove in a court that he's a "young god" ... when the younger ladies on his dating apps don't appear to be buying it.

Hmmm, maybe I should change my age to 72 so I can collect the full amount of social security for the rest of my life. I'll just switch to getting paid cash for the job I have now. I'd be sitting pretty!

Revolutionary ideology always ends up eating itself.  After all, if you 'rebelled' against the old order, and that was a good thing, what's the reason to not rebel against the rebellion, and then rebel against the rebellion against the rebellion?  The insanity won't stop increasing until it completely self-destructs, so just let it ride.

Quote
Emile Ratelband, a Dutch businessman, wants his official age of 69 to be adjusted with his 'emotional age' of 49.
.
Did Emile Ratelband subscribe to any publications in the past 20 years, copies of which are still being delivered?
.
The publisher could cancel his subscription with the excuse that he hasn't subscribed yet.
.
If Emile bough a subscription 1 year ago, he was 68, but if he's suddenly 49, he should have to wait 19 more years to be 68, for his subscription to begin.
.
He's going to have a remarkable resume, at age 69 got age reduced 20 years, at age 49 and 50 had deja vu every day, all day long.
.
Every waking moment became another case of, "I've been this age before..."
.
When his social security payments suddenly stop, and he asks, "What happened?" they could answer, "You haven't made contributions since you turned 49, so when you eventually turn 67, you won't be eligible for as much every month as you would have if you had made contributions like you did before you turned 49, but still, you now have to wait for 18 more years to start getting checks."

I sɛҳuąƖly identify as the Pope, and I hereby declare Vatican II null and void.

The forum can close now, we won't be needing it. ;)

Sorry, but you have register your gender as male with CathInfo before you can be Pope.

I'm not sure why someone would want to be legally younger.  I guess there might be a benefit for that in Holland.

In the U.S., perhaps I should legally increase my age a couple of years so I can start drawing Social Security earlier.

True!
Actually, though, I'm not sure where to register my sex.
I went on the "Profile Settings" but didn't see anything for that.

Just PM Matthew and ask him to update your sex indicator.

I think the forum allowed people to register without marking the sex indicator for a time so there are still a number of members who aren't identified.

Gender indicator, not sex indicator.   ;)

I'm fairly certain that the US government will not go along with that.  :laugh1:
