When you use that enormous font it makes the words harder to read FYI.
Why does it have to be Friday the 13th?
It's interesting this would be the case. We've known it would fall on Fri. the 13th for many decades.
There is a name for "fear of the number 13," triskaidecaphobia. It boils down to mere superstition. Fear of Friday the 13th is paraskevidekatriaphobia (from Παρασκευή Paraskevi, Greek for Friday) or friggatriskaidekaphobia (after Frigg, the Norse goddess after whom Friday is named in English).
But it seems to me that it's a deception of the devil, who fears the Blessed Virgin Mary to the utter depths of his demented being. The devil knows that it is the Mother of God who will crush his head and this strikes a great fear in him.
Triskaidecaphobia or figgatriskaidekaphobia is entirely a pagan concept, having no basis in the Church.
When a Catholic recognizes that it could be nothing more than the devil's fear of Our Lady, and a harmless pagan superstition, it could help to relieve any anxiety from the calendar date.
You completely misunderstood the premise. I cited October 13 as Friday because that is the day that it falls on, the 100th anniversary, its a calendar reference only. It has nothing to do with "friday the 13th" and I made no reference to it. "Friday the 13th" is totally irrelevant to the point of the post. There is no connection, at all.
What I would suggest to you about the number 13 and Our Lady as the Ark, the tabernacle, is this; Solomon the man of wisdom, Solomon's Temple, the seat of Wisdom, the House of Gold. Mary, the Gate of Heaven.
Prophecy Of Ezechiel 40:11 And he measured the breadth of the threshold of the gate ten cubits: and the length of the gate thirteen cubits
3 Kings 7:1, 51 And Solomon built his own house in thirteen years
, and brought it to perfection. … And Solomon finished all the work that he made in the house of the Lord, and brought in the things that David his father
had dedicated, the silver and the gold, and the vessels, and laid them up in the treasures of the house of the Lord.
3 Kings 10:18 King Solomon also made a great throne of ivory
: and overlaid it with the finest gold.
Do you remember the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
… Seat of wisdom, … Tower of David, Tower of ivory, House of gold, Ark of the covenant, Gate of Heaven, … Queen of patriarchs, … That is the true catholic understanding of 13 and Our Lady. You made the comment about the devil. "… the devil who fears the Blessed Virgin Mary to the utter depths of his demented being." In life, no man would want to be defeated by a woman and so it is, the devil in all his pride, runs at the mere mention of Mary's glorious immaculate name. The coward that he is, he attacked Eve in the garden, instead of Adam. It also points to the fact that the devil attempts to destroy God's order and so, he approached Eve as if she had authority, when authority was with Adam, as the head of Eve.
