It's clever protest against communism.

The central govt pushes a culture called "996" = working 9am to 9pm, 6 days a week.

The govt thinks people working 72+ hrs a week is necessary for the Chinese economy to continue to grow.

Some young adults are not interested in that sort of life. Hence the lying flat notion.

The govt was concerned enough to wipe the term "lying flat" from the Chinese internet.

Lying flat in USA is welfare and social justice warriors of stupidity and sloth.

I’m talking about lazy USA youth. 

When one can find no reason for studying, getting a job, marrying, having children, or life itself, refusal to do anything is a natural reaction.  Remember, religion is not exactly taught in China except as an evil Western, capitalist device to control the people.  Ironically, since Communism is itself, a religion, Lying Flat is the end product!  
I can’t say I blame the young people who are into the third and fourth generations of Communism.  How many in China today were alive before the Cultural Revolution?  It’s almost out of living memory.  
We may not call it that, but we’re well on the way to the same thing in the West, including the USA.  People in their 40s-60s have grown up without religion, without morals.  Once the allure of the world and materialism wears off or is rendered unattainable, what else is there?  Why not just crawl into a corner and die?  Or flop on a park bench, go to sleep, and hope you don’t wake up?

NEET Elite: Men Dropping out of “Society” at Alarming Rates

According to data from this recent Bloomberg article, ~20% of American men aged 25-34 (dubbed “prime age men”) live at home, while ~13% are unemployed NEETs. Men without a bachelor’s degree are twice as likely to live at home and be NEETs than those with degrees.

The article claimed that advances in video gaming technology are a causal factor in these high rates of NEETdom, and suggested that many prime age NEETs may suffer from “serious health conditions,” since half of them are on pain medication.



Here’s what I think is going on:

Men aged 25-to-34 are the young(er) millennials (24 is the zoomer cut-off). They’re basically the last generation that’s old enough to lucidly remember what it’s like to live in a functional society. The comparatively peaceful, idyllic, homogeneous country that they grew up in no longer exists. All that remains is a rancid, soulless, bland, techno-dystopia, that openly discriminates against them, and is increasingly controlled and populated by hostile foreign people. After concluding that this so-called “society” isn’t worth contributing to, they’ve retreated into the realm of escapist fantasy and are loafing around at home, gaming and taking drugs all day. This is what total demoralization looks like and it’s only going to get worse.

And America and European greed via slave labor is the reason for this.  Everyone who protests about our minimum wages need to be shipped out to China.

Why thumbs down??   If USA, Europe and even the Vatican fought against communism maybe China would have a chance for Christianity.  That is how you beat communism.  

I’m not a boomer. And yes, most of the youth today is in USA is lazy and physical wrecks.  Lying flat is not Christian.   Christians are to get married work hard and have a family even under persecution.
