If it was not for the "freed" women who have no man to temper their constant need to seek happiness in buying new things, the retail landscape would be 10% of what it is today. Men buy clothes to be dressed, the fallen women buy clothes to change colors every day. A man has two or three shoes for years, a woman has bought 50 shoes or more during the same time.
The "freed" woman can't afford to have children. The "freed" woman can't afford to stay home and raise a family. The "freed" woman raises freed daughters who multiply the spending. The husband has to be away from the family working all his life, while the freed woman and the daughters spend all the money. If the man gets a divorce the freed woman gets his money.
What man is his right mind would want to be married today?
The "freed" woman drives a totally unnecessary part of the economy.
If I wasn't a traditional Catholic, I wouldn't want to be married, and I wouldn't have married.
Those kind of women -- you can have them.
I read a thread about (non-Catholic) men talking about their women problems (modern women) and that convinced me.
The woman's needs fuel the man being away from home, doing lots of working. Either the woman is at work, which causes its own problems, or she is at home with too much time on her hands. Woman compare diamond sizes, cars, house features, etc. and other things they've gotten their husbands to do for them. The husband tries to give her some of these "upgrades" to keep up with the joneses, and to keep his wife happy. But now he has to work even harder to earn a lot of money, which causes him to be home even less. Eventually, the end game is that the wife ends up falling for a co-worker, neighbor, stranger she met online, etc. because she doesn't get to see much of her husband. At the end of this, the husband ends up getting divorced and losing a large portion of his wealth. What a raw deal!
The worldly (American, average worldling) culture is totally against the idea of marriage. Unless you can find a woman who isn't part of this, and who believes marriage is for life, FORGET IT!
If you're going to be non-religious, just living for this world, DON'T GET MARRIED. The woman you marry will also be living for this world, and there's nothing in the current American culture to encourage long, successful marriages.
Doesn't matter how pretty you think she is.
