  • Just back from a family event.  My sister-in-law teaches at a diocesan elementary school.  She is masonic to the core.  She supposedly became Catholic at some point rather recently. Someone very irresponsible allowed this to happen; she knows nothing of the Catholic Faith.  She once tried to get me in trouble for homeschooling, and almost succeeded, bless her heart.

Her kids go to diocesan school.  This summer at the pool we were playing a guessing game with the cousins, Categories.  One of my kids chose saints.  My nieces and their school chums, rising 7th graders did not know one single saint.  I whispered the name of their school, which has a saint's name.

Tonight they brought homework over to the gathering. I offered to help study for the religion test.  My niece had no idea whatsoever about the mysteries of the Rosary she was supposed to have memorised for a 7th grade religion test.

Masons like my sister-in-law teaching children in supposedly Catholic schools are the ones who help the bishop with the sex ed programs, and enable bad priests.

If anyone gets bogged down with homeschooling, I hope this shows the other side. Trad children know the Rosary before they even talk, because they hear it over and over all the time. We live in what is always said to be in the most highly-educated area of the United States, but what a mass of ignorance in the expensive diocesan schools!

  • What you say is absolutely true!  The novus ordites are largely an ignorant of the faith lot.

  • I know a Baby Boomer novus-ordo Catholic who recently pushed her youngest son -- who no longer practices the Catholic Faith, or any Faith -- to include some "traditional" elements in his upcoming wedding. She was delighted when he consented to have a Lutheran pastor preside over their marriage ceremony!

She also pushed her (traditional Catholic) daughter to provide one of her girls to be the flower girl in this non-Catholic ceremony. Said daughter refused, and so this woman was quite upset for a while.

Talk about a loss of Catholic Sense!

A bit more info: this isn't two non-Catholics getting married outside the Church, it's an apostate Catholic and a non-practicing Lutheran getting married outside the Church. This brings up validity issues.

Brave lady to resist-- this type of mortification is full of merit.   The pressure is on so much around weddings, who wants to be the wet blanket of the family all the time, and flower girls are so cute.   Let's make our little girls flower girl's at May Crownings instead of cute little decorations for weddings outside the Catholic Church!

Recently, I just commented about how Vatican II was influenced by Protestants.  I mentioned this to a Novus Ordo friend who is a "Eucharistic Minister."  She said to me almost his exactly:

"Hmm.  You know, I am not very educated in the faith, but my mother is a Protestant and she is nice."

I just sighed and asked her if she thought it might be important to educate herself in the faith, especially since she had a "ministry."

    Crickets.

What meanies are we who have educated ourselves!

  • By having a non-Catholic religious leader officiate at your wedding, the Catholic becomes excommunicated by this act.  It's in the Baltimore Catechism, I think number 1348 or 1325.  I'm going off my memory.

And, according to the same source, it's a reserved sin that only a Bishop can absolve.

  • That's a mess, Captain.   There must be millions of such cases by now.

    Millions of excommunicated Catholics...

Tens of millions is more likely correct.

Well, when the only prayer Catholics learn in the novus ordo system is the "Serenity Prayer" and then sing along to "kumbaya" ---- what can you expect?

  • Anyone (but priest) who intentionally touches the blessed sacrament with their hands, does not have the faith.

God has converted the most hardened sinners, so anyone can be converted. The sign of a true conversion is that the person who had previously recoeved communion in the hand, will instantly realize the horor of the sin of touching the Blessed Sacrament.

Eucharistic ministers is another story. Their sin is greater because of their pride, their audacity, to act as priests. I have seen EM's go straight to become Catholic hating Protestants, a punishment from God.

That is an interesting way of seeing--I seem to lack this type of logic -- seeing actions through back to God.

I agree about touching the Host 1000% I thank Almighty God and my Holy Guardian Angel that I never have.

I went looking: it turned out to be 1365.

    Q. 1365. What sin is it for Catholics to be married before the minister of another religion?
    A. It is a mortal sin for Catholics to be married before the minister of another religion, and they
who attempt to do so incur excommunication, and absolution from their sin is reserved to the
    bishop.
