So ... I was going to make this comment in the thread about how to bond with one's Guardian Angel, but figured that it had wider application, so spun off this thread. As several people had responded there, the best way to bond with them is to spend time talking with them, praying to them, thinking about them (they know when you're thinking about them), etc.
But, I want to throw out there that these types of "vague" advices rarely have any effect, and it's important to make them concrete and structured as resolutions.
So I would recommend that you dedicate, set aside, and almost SCHEDULE (to the extent possible) a certain amount of time each day to think about, talk to, pray to, converse with, and make acts of love toward your Guardian Angel.
Perhaps it's just 5 minutes in the morning, and 5 at night. That's a great start, and I'm sure that the time period will quickly grow as you enjoy his friendship, company, love, guidance, and companionship.
But, Guardian Angels aside, undoubtedly THE most neglected person in the universe, more than even the so-called "forgotten" saints (like St. Jude, who now has more than made up for any earlier neglect) is ... the HOLY GHOST.
Indeed, we all pray often to God the Father and God the Son, Our Lord, and even Our Lady, our patron saints, etc. But God the Holy Ghost often just gets a passing "pro forma" reference in some Trinitarian doxological expression, almost as an after-thought, like "oh, yeah, and You too."
In point of fact, however, THE MOST PROXIMATE experience of and connection to God happens by way of the Holy Ghost. It is HE who teaches us how to pray and to know and to love the other Members of the Holy Trinity, and is in fact our CONNECTION to God, as far as the supernatural life is concerned. In fact, it is He who dwelling with us actually knows and prays to and loves the other Members of the Holy Trinity and thereby allows us to join that Supernatural Family of the Holy Trinity as (adopted) members.
But rarely do any pray to Him ... if you don't count the blasphemous nonsense of the "charismatics" who babble in diabolical tongues, etc.
We should all put aside 15 minutes of prayer dedicated to thinking about, loving, praying to, conversing with the Holy Ghost, as it is He who keeps us in the truth, keeps us in a state of grace, and IS in fact our state of grace, who gives us actual graces to return to the state of grace after falls, and gives us all those gifts that we memorize at Confirmation. So please set aside 15 minutes of dedicated and explicitly scheduled time to converse with the Holy Ghost.
But the bottom line here is that if we just VAGUELY say "I'll spend more time talking to my Guardian Angel" ... such "vague" resolutions rarely get acted upon and are in fact almost entirely forgotten within mere minutes. SET ASIDE some structured time for each individually, for God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost, Our Lady, St. Joseph, your patron saints, your Guardian Angels, including the Guardians of your family. THAT is how we human beings form relationships and bonding, not by just rattling off the "Angel of God, my Guardian Dear ..." prayer a couple times per day.
