  • Thank you for supplying a place to Buy/Sell/Trade.  My family business makes extremely durable knotted rosaries out of military paracord. We were inspired by some buddies in the marines that had mission rosaries that fell apart. When we started in late 2012, we sold (and gave away) our rosaries mostly to military guys.

Now we sell to the full spectrum of Catholics including priests, law enforcement, military, fire fighters, all types of first responders, but mostly to just ordinary people who want a super strong Rugged Rosary.   Please check us out if you are in need of a strong and durable rosary.  I also can offer a free shipping code to users of this forum: SHIP2015

Our online store is here:  RUGGED ROSARIES

  • I went to the site.  Rosaries have no medal after the 3 Hail Mary's  and Glory Be.
Some honor Pope Francis?!  Some have skulls?!  Strange sight.

  • Just some more information about Rugged Rosaries.  The central knot is the centerpiece and we can add a Miraculous medallion there and we can also add up to 8 patron Saint medals.

There are many companies including ours that will make knotted rosaries where a large knot is in place of the centerpiece medallion.

Many people are surprised to find out that we sell skull rosaries to priests and monks most often. There is a long history of skulls used in rosaries.  It is a reminder that we all are mortal and also a reminder of Christ's victory over death.  Here is an article about that if interested:The Meaning of Skulls in Rosaries

I agree that skull rosaries are not for everyone, as many people will find it morbid, but they are not improper on a Catholic rosary.

We also do custom rosaries of all kinds from Anglican, to 20 decade rosaries, to pocket rosaries, and all knotted soldier rosaries.  And we also make an awesome replica of the WWI Military rosaries for only $29.99.

  • I wonder if you might consider offering a larger size Rosary.  In the winter, I often wear gloves while doing chores, and on occasion enjoy praying as I walk to the next location.  A slightly larger Rosary would be easier to handle.  Also, regarding the clip you have for some pocket versions.  Often, as I am walking and praying the Rosary, something external happens that demands my attention.  It would be helpful to use the clip like a placeholder.  Perhaps you might offer the clip with a medal attached.

I just wanted to chime in and support Shannon's point about skulls.  Memento Mori are common in the Church.  They are a reminder of our mortality and are not out of place.
And... I have a couple items on order with RR now.  They have a nice product and are fantastic to work with!
    Give these guys some love.

Not only that, but the skull at Calvary harkens to the tradition that Our Lord was crucified over Adam's grave, and that his skull was beneath there.  That's reportedly the reason that it was called Golgotha or "the place of the skull".

So no issue there.  Also, the medal after the initial 3 Haily Marys is not always there.

Here's a good exposition of the tradition that Adam's skull was beneath Our Lord's cross ...

  • I have one of your Rosaries! I am just too tough on the regular ones, always placing them in my pocket, purse or car, getting them tangled, losing the Crucifix, etc. These are my favorite, (with a Miraculous medal and St Benedict's medal), They are big enough that I always find them in my bag and they are impossible to break.( They don't need to be babied!) I have had these longer than any other pair of Rosaries ever . Now that I am used to these larger Rosaries, I don't want to pray on anything else. They also make a strong impact when people see them in public when you are saying your prayers outside walking etc. People frequently ask about them so it's also a good ice breaker for promoting Our Lady and the Rosary.
My full endorsement to you and your company!

  • Do you have a 15-decade option?  Most of us here would not be interested in the 20-decade ones.

Yes, most rosaries seem to be the 15 decade ones. I have a WWI replica and must say that no one would regret buying it, unless they need large beads. These things are seemingly indestructible! My Dad also bought a very heavy duty paracord one, but found it too heavy and large for how he likes to use his. However, this one is also indestructible and could also be used as a weapo. I am not joking.
Many people say "For the Honor and Glory of God!" but, what they should say is "For the Love, Glory and Honor of God". - Fr. Paul of Moll
