Title: Looking to trade an english version of the summa for one that is in latin
Post by: Paul FHC on August 24, 2017, 10:46:45 AM
Summa Theologica in English, very good condition. I will trade it for the latin set and I will pay whatever the difference happens to be in price as well as the shipping.

I'm not sure if your offer is still open, but I'm willing to trade.   Do you have the Benziger "blue volume" english set?

Ha, I have about a dozen Latin sets of the Summa ... picked them up all over the place.  I was a graduate student (Greek and Latin Patristics) at The Catholic University of America.  There was on the edge of campus a building known as "The Dominican House of Studies".  I made some friends among the older Dominicans, and whenever an elderly priest passed away, they called me over to see if I wanted any of their old books.  Of course I took everything pre-Vatican II that I could get my hands on.

Do you have extra Bengizer-English editions you'd be willing to part with, particularly volumes 1 & 3?

I don't think that I have any English translations of the Summa, but I can look.  I read Latin fluently and have never felt the desire to own a translation.
