  • P. Pius IX Solemn Allocution
    Singulari Quadam
    December 9, 1854

    Quote
It is to be held of faith that none can be saved outside the Apostolic Roman Church . . . but nevertheless it is equally certain that those who are ignorant of the true religion, if that ignorance is invincible, will not be held guilty in the matter in the eyes of the Lord. (Denzinger 1641,ff.)

    P. Pius IX Encyclical
    QUANTO CONFICIAMUR
    August 10, 1863

    Quote
We all know that those who are invincibly ignorant of our religion and who nevertheless lead an honest and upright life, can, under the influence of divine light and divine grace, attain to eternal life; for God who knows and sees the mind, the heart, the thoughts, and the dispositions of every man, cannot in His infinite bounty and clemency permit any one to suffer eternal punishment who is not guilty through his own fault." (Denzinger 1677)
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." • Obvious that is Pius IX rather than Piux IX.

  • Heretic LoH continues to mis-interpret Pius IX ... just as all the heretical EENS-deniers do.

"In the second section of the dogmatic, the Mystici Corporis speaks of the two types of bonds or communications by which men are joined to Christ within the Church. Those men who are united to our Lord by professing His faith, being subject to the legitimate spiritual rulers He has set over His sheepfold, and partaking in the Eucharistic worship which He instituted, are said to be joined in bodily and visible communication with Christ. The second type of communication is spiritual and invisible. It consists in the three theological virtues of faith, hope and charity. Our union with Christ is perfected by God the Holy Ghost dwelling within us. It is expressed in the Eucharistic sacrifice, which is pre-eminently the Act of the Mystical Body.  (Fenton)

A member of the Church is one who is baptized, professes the Faith, and is subject to legitimate ecclesiastical authority.  Such a person can be damned.

Non-members can be within the Church if they are in a state of sanctifying grace which can only be obtained within the Catholic Church.  These are those who have a supernatural Faith and perfect charity. Such people cannot be damned but are saved within the Church.

Perfect charity, and therefore sanctifying grace cannot be obtained by those who are culpably ignorant of the necessity of the Church and Baptism for salvation.

  • Fenton is wrong.  He went astray in trying to reconcile the fraudulent Suprema Haec with Tradition.

Fenton also followed St. Thomas that explicit faith in the Holy Trinity and Incarnation are necessary for salvation.

So, again, Lover of Heresy, stop citing Fenton when you reject Fenton.
