As for St. Bonaventure's error, I have about a dozen scholastic theologians I can cite right now who clearly state that the Sacrament of Baptism is necessary by necessity of means for salvation, and not merely by precept. St. Robert Bellarmine correctly articulted the BoD condition as that of one having received the Sacrament
