All I am wanting to do is to use what Trent teaches, only what Trent teaches and to stay on the topic of justification of the unbaptized.
Trent is crystal clear on purpose and by design. It's not V2's scrambled up mess so there is no need to reference saints or priests to try to understand it, because all we need to do is to look up what Trent taught about the matter.
Trent says justification cannot be effected without the laver of regeneration or the desire thereof. To convey finality, they conclude with; As it is written John 3:5.
When they use the words "or the desire thereof", they are condemning a BOD, not teaching it, not implying it might work. When "or the desire..." is understood in context, they can only mean that justification cannot be effected without the sacrament, "or with only a desire thereof" - as it is written...
No matter how one wants to spin "or the desire thereof", you cannot simply ignore Trent saying that justification is impossible without the sacrament.
