  • 'nough said.

"Indomitable Ignorance" is the result of a letter of Pius IX.  It is not dogma nor doctrine.

The Council of Trent said we must have Supernatural Faith to be justified, and justification is salvation.

Supernatural Faith is belief in the Messiah which must come through hearing, as per St Paul.

The Holy Ghost does not operate apart from Our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Unbaptized babies go to limbo.

One cannot "graduate" from limbo to heaven with good works.

Therefore, the "good pagan" theory is absurd.

Pope Leo said that "There is no salvation outside the church, and any further speculation is unlawful."

So why all the hot air?
Our Lady of Fatima Pray for us you are our only hope!

  • So why all the hot air?
Because some people cannot stand that millions of people who died without faith in Christ cannot be saved, and they think it would be "unfair" for God to condemn them all. Therefore, according to these people there must be some possibility of salvation without explicit faith in Christ and the Trinity (even though the Athanasian Creed teaches that nobody can be saved without holding faith in these essential mysteries of the Catholic faith). This pure emotionalism is the basis for "BoD for invincibly ignorant", "salvation through implicit faith" and "salvation through believing in rewarder God" heretical theories.
