Archbishop of Boston Cushing, was made a Cardinal of the Catholic Church by Pope John XXXIII in 1958.
He was also one of the cardinal electors in the 1963 papal conclave, which selected Pope Paul VI.
He was on good terms with practically the entire Boston elite.
Cushing built useful(?) relationships with Jєωs, Protestants, and institutions outside the usual Catholic community.

At the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965) Cushing played a vital role in drafting Nostra Aetate, the docuмent that officially absolved the Jєωs of deicide charge.

He was deeply committed to implementing the Council's reforms and promoting renewal in the Church.[16] In an unprecedented gesture of ecuмenism, he even encouraged Catholics to attend Billy Graham's crusades.
He was a member of the NAACP.

Jєωιѕн leaders expressed sorrow today over the death yesterday at the age of 75 of Richard Cardinal Cushing. Archbishop of Boston since 1944 and a friend of Israel and the Jєωs. Philip E. Hoffman, president of the American Jєωιѕн Committee, said “Jєωιѕн people throughout the world will always remember with satisfaction Cardinal Cushing’s efforts to achieve an honest and meaningful statement on the Roman Catholic Church and the Jєωs five years ago in Rome at the Second Vatican Council.” Cardinal Cushing he said, “was at the forefront in this tremendously important endeavor,” and “the positive results of Vatican Council II will be a lasting memorial to the Cardinal.” World Jєωry. Mr. Hoffman said, “has lost a friend and champion.” Seymour Graubard, national chairman of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith. said Jєωs the world over will always remember the dramatic plea Cardinal Cushing made on the floor of Vatican Council II five years ago in Rome. “His distinctive voice echoed through the chamber as he asked the Council to “cry out” against “any inequity, hatred or persecution of our Jєωιѕн brothers,”

The UAHC official added that Cardinal Cushing “was a liberal in the truest sense of the word, practicing the principles of ecuмenism long before the term became fashionable.”

Cardinal Cushing, whose efforts at ecuмenism extended to ѕуηαgσgυє oratory, received a rare tribute when he implored Vatican Council II to reject the doctrine of Jєωιѕн guilt for the death of Jesus. The bishops, who normally do not applaud speakers, did so for him.

Link July 1977 - Fr. Feeney, silenced in 1949, excommunicated in 1953 for condemning the teachings of Boston College that persons outside the Church could attain salvation after death, was reinstated in 1972 without having to recant his position.

Cushing's sister married a Jew, and it was likely that he was a crypto himself. He was a massive religious indifferentist and EXPLICITLY denied EENS: "No salvation outside the Church? Nonsense. Nobody's gonna tell me that Christ came to die for any select group." I guess that this "nobody" would include the Church.

Even then, Cushing didn't really care, one way or the other, since he mostly was concerned about fund-raising ... until one of the Kennedy boys attend a talk by Father Feeney and, knowing Cushing personally, went to him demanding that Cushing shut Father down. Father was also converting a fair number of Jews at Ha'va'd ... and so the Jews were also on him about the matter. Were it not for the complaints, Cushing wasn't the type who cared about doctrine.

Today, January 30, the Feast of St. Martina, is the day Fr. Leonard died in 1978.

Again, here is the post about St. John Chrysostom vs. the enemies of Christ and His Church who were aligned against him -

At the instigation, therefore, of Eudoxia, (whom he had reproved for stealing from widows), several Bishops met together at Chalcedon.
Chrysostom was cited to appear, which he refused to do, because it was not a Council either lawfully or publicly convened.
Whereupon, he was sent into exile.

St. John, later canonized, demanded a just and a legal approach, proper procedure. Fr. Feeney did no different, knowing he was being railroaded by scandalous hirelings and wolves and Judases, who were betraying Christ and His Church, and who simply wanted him smeared and shuttered for inconveniently insisting on voicing a dogma of the Church as he was vowed to do - as were they. Regarding Baptism, most Catechisms of the Council of Trent are inaccurate accounts of the subject. One must go to the actual docuмents of the Council, written down in real time of the Council's proceedings. Such a book is "Canons & Decrees of the Council of Trent" (Schroeder).

The Sixth Session under Justification, Chapter VII, covers:

In What the Justification of the Sinner Consists, and What Are Its Causes, there is this section:

"The causes of this justification are: the final cause is the glory of God and of Christ and life everlasting;

the efficient cause is the merciful God who washes and sanctifies gratuitously,
signing and anointing with the holy Spirit of promise, who is the pledge of our inheritance;

the meritorious cause is His most beloved only begotten, our Lord Jesus Christ, who, when we were enemies, for the exceeding charity wherewith he loved us, merited for us justification by His most holy passion on the wood of the cross and made satisfaction for us to God the Father;

the instrumental cause is the sacrament of baptism, which is the sacrament of faith, without which no man was ever justified;...".

So, the tool, the manner, the way in which justification reaches the soul is through the Sacrament of Baptism.

And lest anyone not understand that by Baptism, the Council meant WATER, in its next Session with its Canons on Baptism, the Council stated -

If any one saith that true and natural water is not of necessity for baptism, and on that account wrests to some sort of metaphor those words of Our Lord Jesus Christ, "Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost...," Let Him Be Anathama. -COUNCIL OF TRENT Sess VII Canon II “On Baptism"

When clearing things up for Nicodemus who questioned re-entering a mother's womb to be born again, Our Lord, knowing all things, and perhaps with our current "kerfluffle" in mind, made a point to be exact -

Jesus answered:
Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [John 3:5]

Alas, His own statement seems always to get the least attention.

The Church in the future may have to make a clear, defined definition on the subject, since we, the generation living under the Modernists, are purposely surrounded by confusion and feverish obfuscation for the sake of their demonic weapon of ecuмenism. But many have, and still will have, bad will. You can spend hours and years on the subject with proof after proof - and find people resisting these tenets of the Faith because they simply don't want them to be true (Because of friends? Of relatives? Makes life and duty and requirements too hard?).  Even among traditional Catholics including priests, there are "choosers" - heretics. They will only believe what they want to - they refuse to believe all that the Church requires. For them, the term "pious frauds" was invented.

"He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me;
and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me." [Matthew 10:37]

Let us want to share the beauty, and holiness, and Divine Eternal Life that souls get only through the Church. Let us have that true charity for others and those we love. Let us cooperate with Her, not fight Her - trusting in God's Providence for any necessary grace, indeed the water (and these incidents too, are many).

And may the Holy Ghost assist us all with believing and keeping the Faith, whole and entire.

If he was wrong, if baptism and the full Catholic truth aren't strictly necessary for heaven, then the whole thing is a paper tiger. Who cares about "heresy"? Truth becomes optional, God's commands don't really matter. You can get to heaven without the Catholic Faith, and without Baptism. None of it matters.

Yet here they are, loudly condemning "Feeneyism" as dangerous heresy while insisting you don't even need the truth to get to heaven. That contradiction is pretty glaring.

You seem to believe that between the false doctrine of Vatican II that says everyone goes to heaven and between the Feeneyite position there is no middle ground.

I would be greatly surprised if even 1% of humankind could qualify for baptism of desire. It is quite obvious when looking at the society around us that most people do not obey even the most basic principles of Natural Law, such as not committing or abetting infanticide.

God's commands matter, of course and the full Catholic truth matter. However, it is very difficult to cross a line to know exactly where there is no possiblity for invincible ignorance at all.

You should remember that, humans are fundamentally inequal at birth and in the eyes of God as well. That includes heaven and hell as well. The glory of a man who barely escaped hell will be far lower in heaven than the glory of a man who was virtuous during his entire life. Likewise, the worst sinners will suffer far greater torments than others.

How could anyone want to settle for being the lowest common denominator? And even that is risky, as God said He rejects the lukewarm.

And Cardinal Cushing was the biggest Episcopal Fanboy of Brandeis University, a college founded by Jews in 1948. In fact, a Catholic chapel was built at Brandeis and Cushing thought it was just great for ecuмenism. He was just beside himself over Vatican II. No wonder Cardinal Cushing hated Fr. Feeney. Those Bostonian liberals could not bear the thought of a Catholic priest telling them the truth.

In Boston Common Fr. Feeney would preach, and the Jews would spit on him and say, "Take Him down from that cross and we will crucify Him again."
