LoT or other BODer out there, please explain how your position is any different from what Fr. Feeney described in his letter to Pope Pius XII about THE fundamental heresy plaguing the Church. It seems to me that your conclusions amount to the same thing explained here:
May I tell you in brief statement what is the fundamental heresy universally taught by Catholics, priests, and teachers, in the United States of America? This is the doctrine that American Catholics are being taught:
"THE WAY TO BE SAVED IS BY BEING SINCERE TO YOUR RELIGIOUS CONVICTIONS AND LEADING A GOOD LIFE. If one of your convictions happens to be that the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church of Christ, then you are obliged to join it. If you do not sincerely think it is the one way to salvation, then you are invincibly ignorant and God will save you, apart from the Church. YOU ARE THEN SAID TO BELONG TO THE SOUL OF THE CHURCH, and whatever you desire for yourself in the way of salvation, Catholic theologians are prepared to call "Baptism of Desire". Were you to sincerely think that the Roman Catholic Church is not the true Church of Christ, it would be a sin for you to join it."
I'm not worried about how the Church's position which I hold is different from Father Feeney's was before he met his Maker. I would be only concerned if my position differed from the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church as was Father Feeney's position. I thought this would be obvious now. Is my differing from the the erroneous Feeney supposed to concern me?
The question was not whether you were worried about it, or not, but
if and how your position on BOD was different from what Fr. Feeney was describing here. That of course, was not Fr. Feeney's position, but a concise description of a problem. At the end, you implied that your position differs but we still don't know how because the original question was never answered nor understood. Attention to detail and improvement in reading comprehension would do you good, LoT.
