  • Here is a translation:
Therese Neumann was born on 08.04.1898 in the night of Friday to Saturday at St. Konnersreuth, land subdivision of Upper Palatinate, Bavaria. She was the eldest of 11 children from the tailor Ferdinand Neumann and his wife Anna, born Grillmeier.

Birthplace and family of Therese Neumann

According to the custom of the time she was baptized shortly after his birth on Easter Sunday, the 10.04.1898 in St. Laurentius Church, Parish Konnersreuth.
1898 Theresa grew up in modest circuмstances. Life is limited to working at home. There are not many opportunities for children's games, because in the small farm of his parents in the sewing and home, each child should be useful in measuring forces . The education provided to children by their parents is rigorous and Christian. Therese willingly and meekly submit to the strict but benevolent education.

1904-14 From 1904 to 1911 she goes to school. She went for a nice and studious student. Low incomes are forcing children to start early to help earn the family bread. Thus Therese already accepted in the last half of school (1910 -11) work all afternoon working day at Castle Fockenfeld. At the age of fourteen (1912) she began working full time as a servant to a large property in Konnersreuth. This is why from 1911 to 1914 she can not attend the catechism on Sunday. In his diploma graduation, she has good to very good marks for religious matters, reading, arithmetic, writing and writing. Theresa was a healthy child and unglazed. During his schooling, there is nothing special. She was known for his character breathes the joy of life and was aware of its responsibilities.
    1908
1909 12.07.1908, it is Waldsassen confirmed by the bishop of Regensburg Antonius of Henle. She received first communion on 18/04/1909.
1912 At the end of primary school Therese decides for the profession of missionary sister and makes contact with the Benedictines in Tutzing near Lake Starnberg on 02/02/1912. Entering the order meant she brings a dowry. It saves this in addition to the money she gives to her family on her salary for her work in the big farm Neumann (who is not related to his own family) to Konnersreuth. In addition to the farm, a café-restaurant is part of the property. Theresa aid coffee, but it deals mainly livestock and field work.
1914 The war prevented from entering the orders. When the army incorporates Neumann's father in 1914, she promised her parents to wait to enter a convent that her father returned from the war.

1914 When the owner of the farm is incorporated, Teresa takes over the role of foreman. Due to exceptional physical strength, work the farm fields and it is easy. She loved plants and animals, changing seasons and natural phenomena.

Ferdinand's father reported his daughter during a temporary image of the pious Carmelite Therese of Lisieux (Therese Martin). Teresa begins at the age of 16 years interested in the biography of "Therese", she worships and prays for his beatification.

1918 10/03/1918 fire spreads to the blacksmith to the property Konnersreuth. Therese short fire and save the animals from the barn. As the flames gaining ownership of his employer, Theresa helps fight fire. As it is one of the most significant remaining in the city, she spends buckets to extinguish the fire in the loft of the barn, standing on a stool. When after two hours uninterrupted pass buckets of water it wants to raise another bucket, completely soaked, a shooting pain he spun back. Therefore, it can move only bent and suffers from severe pain. First, neither the parents nor the employer shall grant importance to the accident. She did not spare although having persistent back pain, but she feels compelled to resume work as soon as possible.

Due to the physical strain, she is still suffering other serious accidents in the same year. Beginning in April 1918, when she wants to fetch a bag of potatoes in the cellar, she collapses in the stone staircase to the cellar. She bangs her head down and it stays there unconscious. Subsequently, she experienced continual headaches, it's hard to walk anyway, moreover it can no longer control the function of his bladder and bowels. The doctor, Dr. Goebel, diagnostic Descent stomach and sends it to the hospital Waldsassener on 23/04/1918. She leaves the 10/06/1918 uncured. On 01/08/1918 she falls from the ladder carrying links to bind the sheaves. Again, it was a cramp in the back and it stays there unconscious. The symptoms she had so far increased, it also manifested impaired vision. She is forced to rest a while.

When she tries to be useful and to return to work, accidents happen again. The eve of the patronal feast on 22/10/1918, when there was a lot of preparation work in the hostel Neumann, she fell from a haystack. As a result, his eyesight and his ability to walk is reduced to a minimum. After influenza infection shortly after his physical strength decreases seriously. Therefore it becomes completely paralyzed and bedridden. It is twisted by painful cramps in various muscles after neuritis of his sense of touch falters. She became a person who requires constant care and is thus completely dependent on his family. Many allopathic doctors and doctors of natural medicine treat, but her condition did not improve.

1919 In March 1919, she suffered from cramps in the chest when she sits on a chair. It falls to the chair again and hits his head on the ground and remains virtually unconscious for several days. When it regains consciousness, she lost her sight. Shortly after, she also suffers from intermittent deafness.
Already in 1922 from his first accident in 1918, manifested in Teresa of power failures. Christmas 1922 when he produced a severe inflammation of the throat, she can not eat solid food, but only food in the form of boils and tea.
1923 29.04.1923, it seems that sleeping in something scratching his pillow. She wakes up and finds she sees again. His recovery is not surprising only she and her family, but also doctors, especially since his blindness he is more than four years of medical therapy were applied to him by experienced doctors, but they remained without success. She still suffers from other ailments. This is the day of his recovery that Therese of Lisieux beatified.

    1925
On 17/05/1925, the day of the canonization of Teresa of Lisieux, Teresa found in his bed, unconscious, his eyes intently directed to something in her outstretched hands, a radiant expression on his face. She nodded and waved, as if someone spoke to him. Suddenly she rose, despite the pain of his injury to the spine. When she regains consciousness, she explains what happened. There was a sudden gleam in his eyes and voice of a woman asked if she would not heal. She replied that everything suited him, cure or stay sick or die as it pleased God. Thereto, the voice was meant to experience joy and get up and walk. At the same time, promised to be another evil, but she wants to help, as it had always done (see same Naber, p. 12). After six and a half years of paralysis, she can now move his legs and walk without help from others.
    30. 09.1925, the anniversary of the death of Therese of Lisieux, the miraculous light reappears to Teresa and the same voice tells him that God wanted Teresa to walk without the assistance of others. It happened thus.

Therese Neumann after recovery in 1926
On 07/11/1925 Theresa is once again taking strong pain. The physician, Dr. Seidl was joined on 13.11.1925 and dealing Therese already since 1919, diagnosed with acute appendicitis and the press to undertake an immediate operation. Even as he prepares for the operation, the family asks Therese of Lisieux. Here, the voice spoke again to Teresa, she announced her immediate recovery without operation and asks the patient to get up right away, going to church and thank God. It is actually capable of this approach, all the pain and fever being suddenly disappeared.

    1926
Just before Carnival, 16/02/1926 opens a new breach in the life of Therese: she falls ill again, more as an abscess in his ear and blood and pus ooze occasionally eye. Quite often, it is unable to sleep lying down because of pain - among others also in the night of Thursday 04. Friday the 05/03/1926, she suddenly historical experience. She sees Jesus kneeling in the garden of olive trees. At the same time, she felt a pain in the left side of his chest with such intensity that it believes to die. Then the blood flows in this area. The bleeding lasts until after noon.

Other phenomena of disease continue forever. Certainly, the abscess of the ear began on Holy Saturday, but she remains bedridden until 1927. On the night of Thursday to Friday 11./12.03.1926 she knows her second appearance, similar to the first, but increasingly the scene of the scourging of Jesus. The following Friday, the 19.03.1926 she also sees the crowning of thorns and Friday, 26.03.1926 also how he carries the cross and fell under it. On Friday, on 02/04/1926, she sees all the agony and death (the Passion) and the morning of Easter Sunday, she sees the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Injuries accompanying phenomena are not formed only in the area of the heart, but include at the end of the year all the scars of Jesus Christ (stigmata). (see Gerlich, p. 102)

This vision of suffering and death of Jesus is repeated for 36 years until his death in over 30 individual events taking place all holidays, except those of Christmas to Lent and Easter until the feast of the Heart of Jesus, and those that coincide with the great days or eighth day after. "The eyes, heart and head bleed at the same time during Lent also feet, knees, hands and left shoulder on Friday in addition to the chest and back" (Rössler, P. 21). Stigma in the heart, hands and feet are still visible, but not inflamed or suppurating same - if we do not deal with drugs.

Therese Neumann for the suffering of Good Friday

On Christmas Eve 1926 she experienced a different phenomenon than the Passion. She sees the baby Jesus transfigured.
In 1926 another phenomenon occurs, it eats more. As mentioned above, Teresa could not eat solid food since Christmas 1922 but only food to a pulp and liquid. At Christmas 1926, his stomach and his intestines even accept this food. Even swallowing becomes impossible for her. When asked how she can survive, she said she saw the Holy Communion daily. (see also Rössler, p. 21).

1927 Apart from this vision of Friday, since 1927, Theresa has also visions of the special days of the ecclesiastical year, the content on other chapters of the New Testament and the history of the church. Should be appointed, eg the event of Christmas and Pentecost, scenes of public life of Jesus, as the wedding at Cana, the miraculous catch of various cures and the loaves, but also -- mostly during the holidays, details of the lives of saints. (see Steiner, Visions)

The events around Theresa can not be kept secret in the private sphere. They arouse public interest and attract streams of visitors, especially on holidays.

The bishop of Regensburg, Antonius of Henle, has a great reserve towards events Konnersreuth. Faced with public discourse becomes more and more passionate, the Bavarian bishops' conference said it would be appropriate to create a scientific basis for test-Filosofía theological phenomenon. Hence, from 14 to 28 July 1927 Theresa was subject to a medical examination of the order of the Episcopal ordinariate under the direction of Dr. Seidl Waldsassen and Professor Dr. Ewald Erlangen, especially to check the phenomenon of survival food without observing the conditions of weight, temperature, pulse value and its excrement and blood by laboratory testing. Four nurses Sworn Mallersdorf Teresa constantly monitor the strict instructions by the two doctors who actually check the comments often coming suddenly. The result of this examination reveals that despite close observation ... we did not observe that Therese Neumann, who was never left alone, took the food ... "(Gerlich, pages 128ss), see also Ewald.

In October 1928, concerning Therese Neumann, the council of the Bavarian bishops took the decision to invite the public not to judge the final events Konnersreuth and avoid any visits until the religious authority's decision itself . In 1927, the bishop of Regensburg ordinariate explained in Fact Sheet No. 10 provisions for the Episcopal Diocese of Regensburg, the necessity of this decision: "This decision was not necessary to give rise to a sort of pilgrimage before they is the foundation for a religious statement, but any certainty that more malicious people do not approach and then publish the tissue of lies by referring to the fact that they were themselves Konnersreuth ... and make errors run to denigrate all that is supernatural and holy. "(Gerlich, p. 138) Also in this section the implementation and results of the observation Therese 15 days have been published. It also confirms by referring to the results of the examination no food intake has occurred.

After the decision of the diocese, only those who could present a permission to visit the diocese had access to the Neumann home. But even with this measure, we can not stop the crowds, so much so that it is abandoned.

From 1927 to 1927, the health of Therese is such that it can work in fields and even to big jobs like the days before his accident.

1933-45 With the takeover of National Socialism, the time of distress begin to Theresa. The National Socialist press disparages her person in articles sarcastic throughout Germany. The State omits no opportunity to make him ashamed to be in trouble and the threat of persecution, until the arrest. However it is not subject to physical retaliation.
She makes no secret she refuses this current policy and the person of Hitler. However, it remains prudent with public statements. She gives advice to many people asking for help and also the guidelines, it receives so supernatural. So she warns including Dr. Fritz Gerlich, the editor of the Münchner Neueste Nachrichten (News Munich), not to return to Germany. He ignores the warning and he was arrested upon his return. She helps the father Ingbert Naab OFMCap, Eichstätt, to flee into exile. It asks for more people in jail for their release or at least they are not executed, even though they are charged or convicted. In addition, it supports the "Circle Konnersreuth in its actions to the resistance. (see also Spiegel, p. 19ss, 68ss S.)

1945-62 After the end of World War II, again a stream of visitors makes its way to Konnersreuth, among them there are many American soldiers. For years, many visitors are the experience of aid, advice and consolation in their troubles with it. Many of them rediscover the faith and are comforted.
Although Teresa has never wanted to be a public person, she did not flee to the visits. But she refuses brutally eager curious sensation. The influx of visitors means a considerable burden for the Neumann family, especially since it also means limitations in daily life. Despite this, she continues her modest lifestyle. The village also Konnersreuth remains rural, but enjoy the opportunity of the situation to organize tourist activities profitable.

1951 Caring Professions clergymen, mostly priests and religious orders, was always a desire to Theresa. She learns of the Oblates of the Salesians in Eichstätt that the order is seeking a larger building to create a school of people to the vocation late. When she learns that the castle is for sale Fockenfeld it wins the order of the Salesians of the idea to develop this school, if they can get the funds elsewhere. She also realizes that with the help of a generous donor. In this way, the estate was bought in 1951 by the order and he was inaugurated as "St. Joseph School for people with late vocation, school-school of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales'. Since then, many young men to graduate from high school and more than 3,000 students have found the path of the priesthood.
1962 Theresa died on 18/09/1962 after having suffered from angina for a long time. Before the funeral, on 22/09/1962, four doctors examine the body and confirmed that even after four days the remains showed no rigor mortis and that does not emanate the smell of corpse. The body is so flexible that some people think of an apparent death.

1963 The Bishop of Ratisbronne, Dr. Graber had communicated to Theresa after taking office in 1962 his desire to worship a monastery was founded in the diocese. Therese gives background and takes up the case for this project to Konnersreuth. At the request of Theresa, two families offer Konnersreuth field. It is also countless sponsors to finance the building, but she dies during the planning phase. But his wish is carried out quickly after his death. Already on 22/09/1963, Bishop, Dr. Graber, inaugurated the worship of the Monastery of the Sisters of Mary of Mount Caramel, called Theresianum in the presence of thousands of believers.

At the request of Teresa, a nursing home has been affiliated to the monastery for lay people there are also welcomed and involved in the eternal adoration.

2005 Even after Theresa's death, interest in her character endures. Much literature has appeared on it, places where she lived and above his grave is often visited and in the office of priest Konnersreuth consortium and the Episcopal Diocese of Ratisbronne it receives letter from around the world with applications messages, to fulfill the prayer requests and also to introduce the process of his beatification.

The church leaders, bishops of the province of Bavaria Egilse have now accepted this request. • Amazing story. I recommend reading the section "Life without taking food" under Phenomena. She had medical doctors verify that she lived without eating any food or even water for more than thirty years.

Lot of controversy about her. Prudence.

    From another site:
Therese Neuman always was held as being an authentic victim soul. Read the the accounts from the hundreds of military men, religious and those who knew her, like Msgr. Adalbert Vogl, Fr. Ingbert Naab and Fr. Wutz to name a few.
Satan likes to spread stories and put doubts in the minds of people, just like with other well known saintly souls. By no means does anyone have to believe, more importantly, God chose her for a specific mission, a painful, sacrificial and soul winning mission. Try saying that about many priests today. Try saying that about ourselves!
It might help to read more on these gifted souls who gave up everything to do the will of God. Not only will we admire the total giving up of one's will to that of our God, but we can certainly learn from them.
The fact that something is written in a book does not mean that the things written are accurate. A lot of what gets written in books is merely hearsay, or hearsay upon hearsay.

    Eyewitness testimony is always preferable.

Therese Neumann's sanctity was well known. She obviously had the stigmata.

    http://images.google.com/images?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=1W1SKPB_en&q=Therese+Neumann&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=TysES-2GBMyLnQfx77Rt&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CCMQsAQwAw
I remember reading about a certain man who entering the confessional only to be heard by St. Padre Pio, the man after confessing told the saint, "My friend wanted me to tell you he doesn't believe you truly have the stigmata, that you probably brought them on by some mental behavior." Padre Pio responded, "Tell your friend to think real hard that he's a bull, and see if he grows horns."
Having to be confronted by some non-believers, I guess the good Padre just had to respond with some humor at times.

  •   I really love one thing about this mystic/victim souls, and it is their passive role in receiving God's love and the way they let Him do what He wants. I don't know why, but I think passivity is wonderful. (almost everybody disagrees though!)

  • Yes, Spouse, because what you're saying was condemned as an error of Miguel de Molinos.

Condemned Proposition #13:  "After our free will has been resigned to God, reflection and care about everything of our own must be left to that same God, and we ought to leave it to him, so that he may work his divine will in us without us."

Condemned Proposition #1:  "1. It is necessary that man reduce his own powers to nothingness, and this is the interior way."

Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  •  "Does not Therese shwo in the way she lives the Passion that she is really animated by an ardent love of Our Lord? We have noticed in a preceding chapter that her love of Our Lord as manifested during the trances has sentimental qualities; and sayings like, 'I have no time for you now, Saviour, to talk to you; I must sleep properly,' seem hard to reconcile with that "mystic love"...

It was known that Therese said she never meditated upon the Passion of Christ, because she already suffered His Passion at certain times. This is in great contradiction to every other mystic - for meditation on His Passion, while enduring stigmata or not, was always a major part of their life.

It is also known that Therese would not remember things when she came out of ecstasy, and very often it was recorded she would talk like a small child, 5 or less years old. She would 'dictate' things and then not remember them.

Pope Benedict XIV states: 'Ecstasy is diabolic...if the person speaks with a disturbed mind, as if acted upon by another, and as if another were speaking through him; if, after the alienation, he does not remember what he said whilst alienated, and cannot repeat the things he has said.' - De Beatificatione, c. 49, n.6

Even Archbishop Teodorowicz, a frequent visitor, stated of Therese: "Where she is convinced that there is no honest attitude to the Konnersreuth events, she becomes stern and hard, inexorably hard, to those who doubt as well as those who believe in these happenings. She treats such people with repugnance."

Whereas the saints leave it to God to vindicate them, Therese does so herself; throughout her life we find an dexpression of this attachment to her special graces, and persons who have "no honest attitude" to them are treated "with repugnance."
