I'm cleaning out one of my book cases and realize I haven't read this book by Merton.
If anyone has read it... is it worth my time reading it? The net seems to praise it but I'm wondering of its worth to a trad catholic.
Opinions please.
Thomas Merton: "I see no contradiction between Buddhism and Christianity ... I intend to become as good a Buddhist as I can." (David Steindl-Rast, "Recollection of Thomas Merton's Last Days in the West" (Monastic Studies, 7:10, 1969)
Steer clear of the Novus Ordo heretics. There are many great books from saints.
I also recommend Our Lady of Fatima by W. T. Walsh and De institutione bene vivendi. The latter was the only book St. Francis Xavier carried on his missions besides his breviary.
